  1. The ball just wasn't carrying at GAB. Both teams hit balls that looked gone only to come down on the warning track.
  2. The only way getting an OFer makes any real sense is if it moves Hall to 2B.
  3. Dye Close and Late 2004-2006: .212/.275/.388 Jenkins close and late 2004-2006: .285/.361/.476 ie Jenkins clutch, Dye not
  4. Thing is right now Weeks stinks. So yeah both would be a rather cheap upgrade. Actually either would be more of a part time role with Graffy likely taking over full time. If there is a great 2B out there to be had sure, but with Belliard signing an extension, there doesn;t look to be too much out there anymore.
  5. His k/9 has been rather poor the entire season: http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/564_P_daily_full_1_20070725.png
  6. Well obviously Braun is a choker.
  7. Weeks would either be DL'd or optioned down, likely the former.
  8. Weeks looks fine for a few games after a rest or the DL and then resumes his poor approach. This makes me think he still has a decent amount a wrist pain that flames up with use. So its time to really doubt he'll get there without a decent amoutn fo rest. There are two rental options out there that could easily split time with Graffy (of course this assumes Yost realizes that Counsell is a bad option). Grudz from KC and Loretta from Houston would seem to be two decent options that would seem to come fairly cheap.
  9. There is no worse insult than to be called Ned Yost....
  10. Thing is, will any team give up a pick to get Linebrink next year if he is labeled Type A?
  11. Just because he wanted those wonderful apple-tinnis right now doesn't mean he still didn't overpay for them.
  12. Yes its about winning now. But Melvin still acted like a drunk who took out a $100 bill along with two 10s to pay his $25 dollar bar tab and told the bar tender to keep the change.
  13. Actually no, the best option would most likely be getting a rental 2B. Dye just isn't that good. Jenkins has been a better player over his career where Dye has been the model of inconsistancy and Dye and Jenkins are the same age.
  14. I don't like this. That said it can only get worse if Melvin feels he has to prove this trade a win and signs Linebrink to a large contract this offseason.
  15. Yes and the Mets were smart to trade away the short Kazmir!
  16. was I they only one thinking the only Brewer who could possibly ground into a triple play was at the plate?
  17. The Reds will move Dunn for peanuts. He has a no trade clause if they pick up his option and they don't get picks if they don't. Unless they think this season is a fluke and next year they'll be contenders (ha!) Dunn should be moved since he isn't they type of player who you want in his mid 30s when your team might get good again.
  18. The throw to 3B was the only real chance of getting out of the inning.
  19. Dye was unbelievable last year, but historically he isn't much better than Mench.
  20. VORP is offense only. With defense Utley laps him, but defense and MVP almost never go together.
  21. Ash just said that he's now a starter candidate only.
  22. Why, do we want to lose or something? ZackJack is a bad pitcher.
  23. Why would the Twins take Jenkins? They aren't going anywhere this year and would balk at his contract next year. And the Brewers need Jenkins.
