  1. Yost has yet to realize that putting Rivera with Davis and Capuano would be the smart thing to do.
  2. I bet Toronto insured him.
  3. Given that You'll likely have to pay someoen take Jenkins, having him platoon at $7.5 million is better than paying Mench $3.5 million and Jenkins $4 million to play elsewhere.
  4. The Brewers won't release him for sure then. If Koskie can't play, he'll be put on the 60 day DL for the season and insurance will pay his salary.
  5. Love how Bill talks about the need for small ball between Fielder's crushed double and Jenkins' HR.
  6. Can someone explain to Yost that Rivera has one hole in his game, throwing out runners? He has Miller catch Capuano who controls the running game by himself and has Rivera catch Sheets and now Ohka, two pitchers not that great with holding runners. Is it really that hard to see? And Gwynn should be batting 8th.
  7. This is done because scouts would rather have an athlete than a baseball player. And you need to fit a certain profile to be an athlete. If a high school team lists their phenom pitcher at an honest 5'11" they'll see no scouts come by and may even have problems getting a college scholarship. List him as 6'2" and suddenly he's a top prospect. So once a player is listed at a given height, you go changing it and suddenly more questions pop up. So you leave it be. (I love how my 6'3" brother was 6'5" 210 for football and 6'5" 190 for basketball)
  8. So your choice is a red hot Jenkins against a left hander or a bitterly cold Mench against a right hander. Yep, defiantely Mench.
  9. Scott Kazmir sucks because he's short which is why the Mets were lucky to dump him.
  10. The beef? Rivera is your slowest player. Sure anyone would have been out, but they may have at least a chance to break up the double play. You have a free move to make it and you don't take it. Again Yost doesn't do a little thing that increases his chance of winning. And not DSing for Shouse was just foolish.
  11. How do you put in Rivera to run there? Put in Cirillo to run and have Rivera hit. Or run Bush. But putting in your slowest player to run when a DP will kill you is stupid. Of course this also is why Yost shoudl have DS'd when he brought in Shouse. You knew you would likely want Shouse to go over two innings when you brought him in.
  12. College players should dominate A ball. Its like high school senoirs playing high school freshman. Keep in mind Moeller dominated A ball.
  13. You woudl think that with Cirillo and Grafanino that it would somehow change, but no.
  14. Not with a Red Sox game goign on! Can anyone explain how Mench played that into a triple?
  15. Jenkins in September heading into tonight: .667/.714/1.167 Sure its 7 PAs....
  16. Gotta get that CGS no matter the effect on his next start!
  17. Are we really going to see Davis throw 120 pitches in a 8-0 game in September?
  18. Apparently a Kevin Mench triples when he hits a double and the scorer is drunk. EDIT: He looks different because he's facing left handed pitching.
  19. Yes and no. He's 2 for 19 over the last 7 days, but his OBP is actually 320. EDIT: So is it one hat for each 1-2-3 inning?
  20. Is Bill the only person who thinks a ball at the belt is high?
  21. Well Gonzalez looks to be making sure he won't be with the Brewers next year.
  22. If the Marlins win the Wild Card, do they vote the Brewers a playoff share for helping them so?
  23. Weeks was also already on the 40 man roster. Why not bring him up? Because he could pull a Hardy and miss a full season with injury and take another full season to recover and boom two options are lost.
