  1. Yeah because Damian Miller's attitude isn't enough, even though he was actually important to the team that won.
  2. Much more likely that at 29 Rivera had a career year then Zaun suddenly not being able to hit.
  3. Figgins is one of those guys people always thinks are better than they really are. Figgins last year: .267/.336/.376 Career: .285/.345/.393 EDIT: To add, Figgins isn't a terrible choice, but giving up Davis to get him makes no sense.
  4. Not sure why you don't send Gross out there full time to see if he can hit lefties at all. He basically would just need like a 700 OPS against them to make him a decent CFer.
  5. Yeah the Brewers never pay for risks. Ask Dan Kolb. And the chance Gagne gets offered arby is nil.
  6. I guess I'm the only one who looks at that and sees Biggio and Taveras and laughs when you add in Everett and Ausmus. That is still a horrible lineup especially if they dump Ensberg.
  7. My guess is that Fielder would likey be a better defensive outfielder than 1B for the next three to five years. After that probably not. But his height really limits him at first.
  8. Umm why are we giving up Davis to take on a bad contract?
  9. Its very unlikely Manny is going anywhere, its the yearly Manny wants a trade dance. Outside of maybe Oakland, who can't afford him, he'll never get as much freedom as he gets in Boston. If this happens, Crisp or Pena is likely the one gone depending on demand. Of course they could just keep Pena planning on Drew missing 40 games.
  10. I think the Detroit trade and extension for Sheffield killed the market. I thought Alou would get a one year deal for $8-10 million, but with Sheffield getting 3 years at big money, I don't know.
  11. Which is what I've been saying. I'd rather keep Jenkins and his expiring salary than say signing a Huff for four years and trading Jenkins.
  12. And short run. The Brewers still can get Davis for one year at $4.5 million or so, really cheap for an average starter.
  13. I'd do a two year deal for Drew at $15 million easily.
  14. So pitching is at a premium but somehow the Brewers can move jetsam like Jenkins, Clark and Mench for decent pitching?
  15. Note" in a single discussion" Now multiple discussions, yes.
  16. There aren't any impact bats in the free agent pool anymore. It was Ramirez. (unless you count Alou and Bonds, but since the Brewers are in the NL I don't)
  17. And that value is what? A 26 year old AAA player? Maybe we can get Dallas McPherson for him.
  18. Well given Gamestop can't fulfill all its preorders, you might still just have the $100.
  19. Not quite that small, likely closer to 200K. But far below demand.
  20. The problem is a bag of balls isn't being paid 4 million and taking up a roster spot. Lopez at $4 million makes no sense. He's likely to be released anyway.
  21. See, I'm not that big into racing games so I couldn't tell you the major differences between GT and PGR. And you're right that the 360 lacks platformers. But MS seems really committed to the Japanese market. No way does a game like Idolmaker come to the first Xbox. My main point though was its hard to see why to get a PS3 right away.
  22. The 360 has the best exclusive list for the foreseeable future. It has three contenders for games that could be classics coming out in the next 6 months in Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Halo 3 (which can still be delayed). The PS3 has MGS4 and not much else I still think given the production delays, Sony would have been better off just doing a winter launch in Japan and delaying the US launch until March when they would have a strong launch title with MGS4.
  23. The success of the Wii depends a lot on whether if Nintendo learned their lesson. If they continue their console game liscensing they'll die again. The Cube and the N64 both died because Nintendo didn't open up development while Sony was allowing anyone who wanted to make a game for the PS1 and PS2. The environemnt chnaged and what worked for Nintendo when dealing with the 80s game crash didn't work in the 90s. Now, they changed their attitude with teh GBA and the DS. Which means that you have a lot of titles with a lot of junk as well. But it allows for things like Phoenix Wright.
  24. Because he isn't that good. His career numbers are .270/.344/.371. Signing a guy who is 34 and marginal for three years makes little sense.
