  1. You can't seperate them from their relative ages though. I predicted that Prince wouldn't hit as well as Overbay (both actually did better than I expected). But Overbay likely just had his best year. Pricne just completed his first. And Prince's year was on par with waht Overbay did last year. Most players Prince's age struggle mightly with their first serious palying time, he didn't.
  2. If Koskie is healthy, they would likely take him back.
  3. You'd think that, but teams would rather overspend on free agents than take on slightly bad contracts. Look at Philly trying to move Abreu and Burell. Abreu was dumped for squat and Burell looks to follow suit. And looking at Burell for 2 years vs Lee for 4 at basically the same salary should be a no brainer. but Philly will ahve trouble dumping Burell but teams will lineup for Lee.
  4. I was serious when I think a deal built around Cordero could do it. Cordero, Jackson and Inman would be possible. ARod looks like he's going to be dumped, which does mean the cost of Rameriez has just gone up $3 million a year.
  5. The question was what do you think Soriano is worth. And some don't feel he's worth his current salary going forward.
  6. I disagree. The Brewers biggest problem right now is that the pitching is at a more advanced level than the hitting. If the hitting doesn't catch up, Capuano could be gone before the Brewers offense becomes respectable.
  7. ARod is 32, he won't be awesome for another decade. Because of the age and salary, this is much closer than people make it sound to be.
  8. Actually no, there is a lot of disagreement over whether spriano would help Milwaukee. I wouldn't touch Soriano for more than $7 million a year.
  9. A Mets win would be nice due to the fact it would cause more pain to Yankee fans.
  10. Of course they haev ARod goign to the one team that has near equal players at short and third, both pre arby. So Yankee fans are idiots.
  11. Capuano is worth Crawford plus. Crawford isn't Cabrera. Top starting pitching is worht more than a plus outfielder.
  12. So, Cordero for Arod?
  13. Somehow Jared Wright's game 7 experience didn't have the impact Joe Morgan told me it would.
  14. The worst? When Detorit stood up when Rodgers got two strikes on Yankee hitters. Jon Miller said "Detroit fans are standing in anticipation of the srtikeout ala Yankee Stadium." "ala Yankee Stadium?" Suddenly Yankee fans invented standing before a strikeout.
  15. No the DRays. They have always expected anyteam to give up everyhting for their players. And since it worked with Zambrano, they think it will work again. Cashing Huff in for peanuts changed nothing.
  16. Given Rogers has been terrible in the playoffs before tonight (8+ ERA), it was one of teh most surprising performances ever.
  17. "Jeter couldn't have done anymore" How about not turn his back to 1B coming from short so he doesn't do a jump turn to throw? EDIT:Jeter misses a catch and they ignore the fact it would have been the last out which would have saved the Yankees 2 runs so far.
  18. You think anybody will remember this the next time someone says, "just give that guy a free pass"? EDIT: Al's gonna be intolerable
  19. The Twins look done.
  20. Trure, but that he comes in better than almost all relievers is amazing.
  21. In four years, Overbay will likely be a bench player. I like Overbay, but he's not a cornerstone player. Fielder could be.
  22. I think its September games don't count for roster days, but the IP and ABs count.
  23. Yes its Branyan's fault Bellhorn struck out with the bases loaded.
  24. I said Garcia isn't any better than Davis, and he isn't. In 2004, Davis had a PRAA of 23, Garcis was 18 in 2005 Davis had a PRAA of 9, Garcia was 10 in 2006, Davis had a PRAA of -3 Garcia was 2. But Garcia costs three times as much so he has that going for him. And yes K/9 is more important because its the best predictor of future success.
