  1. Well, to a well-eduacted fan, yes, But to the average guy who only follows his own team pretty closely it has to be hard to be impressed if you only see the Crew when they come to your town. The average fan has no clue what the home/road splits are
  2. There is no reason for Counsell to play 3B where his glove can't outweigh his bat.
  3. Not if we make a deep playoff run...Green cannot hit lefties at all bro. One would think that a guy with an 82' Avatar would appreciate making the playoffs. Taylor Green is having a nice year in AAA. I doubt very much though he will be a good everyday 3rd basemen. Actually he can. His current splits are .269/.376/.397 and given what there were to start the season he's been hammering lefties for the last 6-8 weeks.
  4. The Cards gave up a starting OFer to get Jackson. Its hardly a big win for them. They gave up a 2-3 win OFer to get a 3-4 win pitcher.
  5. The Cardinals gave up a ton more talent in Rasmus from the current team.
  6. So will any reporter ask the next time Roenicke talks about how the offense should be better why he thinks that playing Counsell, Kotsay and Betancourt will give you a good offense?
  7. Harriston is a SS upgrade. Furcal is a DL upgrade.
  8. Morgan got hurt, Harriston got food poisoning, and Wilson is in Witness Protection. The lineup makes perfect sense!
  9. He's starting caliber. That is ahuge upgrade over Yuni though not that much of a one over Harriston.
  10. No they have to be on the 25 man unless they are coming back from injury or replacing an injured player.
  11. Depending on how close to Aug 31st it is they could send Dillard down since he is unlikely to be on the post season roster anyway. Maybe he'd get to pitch again this season!
  12. Barmes can be a Type B and it sounds like no one is willing to offer similar talent as a supplemental pick. But then again hard to see anyone giving Barmes a contractl that will significantly be more than he makes in arbitration (he's making $3.9m this year so he'd get over $4m in arbitration and I'd guess he's looking at maybe a 2 year/$6m FA contract at the top end).
  13. JHJ is a fine shortstop if they actually play him there. Likely a much better SS than CFer.
  14. I probably would prefer that RR gets excited about him at 3rd I think Lopez is the one who is playing for the 3B job
  15. Marcum's FIP in 2010 3.74, 2011 3.59. so we have like a 0.14 decrease. Guthrie's FIP is 4.38 so you have like 4.24 FIP or basically another Wolf. Or a downgrade from Narveson.
  16. Because he was pitching pretty well and the bullpen is stretched a little thin. Well, at least the most reliable arms (KRod and Ax) are...if the two of them are unavailable, getting three innings from the bullpen could be an adventure. nice game randyHis control was gone, he wasn't pitching well, was over 105 pitches and Loe/Estrada/Dillard can cover 1 inning.
  17. Philies way overpaid
  18. Nobody can say Fielder is the worst defensive 1B in the league
  19. Yeah the Astros have a chance to be historically terrible. Trading away Pence and Rodriquez could push them over the top.
  20. Keep in mind Brookfield isn't close to downtown. Now the drive at 1 am tends to be fine but it isn't some place you'll want to take a cab to. I'm getting about $50 a night in Wauwatosa (closer to Miller park and downtown) on hotels.com for a Super 8 and a Days Inn. Its also listing the Astor in milwaukee (its right by the lake) at $79 a night (only 2 rooms left) that would be worth it.
