  1. Haudricourt is not a columnist or an editorial journalist, though. He is a beat reporter who reports the news. It's not his job to criticize or question the decisions of the Brewers, that would be somebody like Michael Hunt from the MJS. He is responsible for Who, what, where, etc. He can ask why something is or isn't done in a situation and then report what is said--which is exactly what he has done in this situation. You can't ask the beat reporter to also be an editorialist or else they are going to get frozen out of info VERY quickly. There is PLENTY of criticism and editorializing these days on sites like this, blogs, and ESPN, so I'm not exactly sure what you expect from Haudricourt. Do you think he just just keep hounding the FO until they do what the fans want? Give me a break. You haven't read much Haudricourt if you think he doesn't criticize the decisions of the Brewers.
  2. Yes but if his waiving it means the receiving club has to pick up his option that still kills him being traded.
  3. Then again usually the PTBNL tend to leak out. With Green though it would be weird to make him a PTBNL and not just "Green+PTBNL" unless Green is on the list of "KROD gets 30 Saves for The Brewers" list.
  4. Green has more flexibility in trades if he isn't on the 40 man roster.
  5. Rosenthal tweeted earlier today that the Dodgers would only trade one of Carroll and Furcal. That makes no sense (then again its the Dodgers).
  6. I think people are underestimating what losing Rasmus means for this year. Jay already had 293 PAs in 102 games (yeah he's their leader in game appearances). He's been the #1 fill in everywhere in the OF and pinch hitting and so someone has to fill his spot. Craig is still out which means more Descalso? Punto?
  7. Now if Ramirez just decides to stay behind it would be a great series!
  8. BA said yesterday that Roenicke was going to use KRod to close if one is needed and have Axford rest. Yeah it doesn't make sense but RRR thinks Axford isn't as durable.
  9. Hall's defense looks to have collapsed to Betancourtian levels so he likely would be worse at 2B
  10. Does anybody else think that Melvin's kind of a knob for revealing that? I mean, what's the point? It just makes Nieves look bad. There was no reveal. Witrado was trying to make a joke. It likely was the amount of a waiver claim ($50,000). The Brewers just want an opportunity for someone to give him a job and save them some money.
  11. Fukudome isn't good in the field anymore, seems to be losing power and is oft injured.
  12. Hall looks done. His 2010 such as it was looks to be an aberration and his 2008, 2009, and 2011 looks more realistic.
  13. Wigginton is not the answer to anything.
  14. I'm awaiting the Gamel/Betancourt/McGehee/Fielder infield...
  15. Maholm's FIP in 2010 4.18 in 2011 3.94. He's basically the same pitcher with a lower BABIP and a lucky strand rate.
  16. I get the feeling Carroll isn't one of Roenicke's guys
  17. Bunting there isn't terrible, and going with LHer to try and disguise it sure, but your back up catcher and only real power threat?
  18. An afternoon Cubs game in July not on TV just seems weird
  19. I just shivered when I thought of Gamel at 3B and McGehee at 2B....
