  1. This comes from Roenicke thinking Lopez is bad defensively. Why? Who knows, everything points to him being about average at 2B while Betancourtian at SS. Why he thinks Wilson is better is another thing I don't get.
  2. They've been insanely profitable. And who cares if they run operating deficits each year when the franchise value continues to climb?
  3. I know I shouldn't read the chat, but I did anyway. Haudricort is full in on "McGehee is hitting better lately".
  4. Likely just injury insurance though he really isn't much insurance.
  5. Sure but he still walked 5 in 10.1 innings against LHers and has given up 2 home runs while only striking out 7.
  6. He seems to have lost 2 mph on his fastball and has been serving home runs to left and right handers.
  7. And correct me if I'm wrong but there were only two hits with runners at 2nd base right? Hart and Morgan. Those are the only two where the Brewers could have stolen a sign...unless, of course, there is someone eating the Tuscan Spinach dip at TGI Friday's with binoculars and bat phone to the Brewer dugout. The claim, which I think was started by the genius Micheal Kay is that they are stealing signs using binoculars from the outfield stands or the bullpen or the the new scoreboard has a secret infra-red camera that tracks catchers fingers and relays them through subliminal video inserts on the video display to the batter. (To be clear the Yankee announcers just said the Brewers were likely stealing signs, not exactly how they were doing it)
  8. Zito is "hurt" not hurt.
  9. JHJ was available before the season.
  10. Is it really easier to beat Philly in 7? I doubt it. To win in 5 you just need one or two bad starts from someone on the Philly staff. For 7 you need 2 or 3.
  11. I do think Lopez and McGehee are currently auditioning for playing time (yeah its stupid). I think we might see a platoon situation develop since Roenicke does try to dump left handed bats in teh line up on occasion.
  12. Why would they pick him now? No reason to take on the injury risk until needed especially with a pitcher. McClendon could blow out his arm tomorrow and need TJ surgery.
  13. Of course, he could have used Dillard for multiple innings, since he pitches once an eon at the moment. I know I could look it up, but isn't Dillard back in AAA? Nope. He's on the major league roster. Last pitched 7/18
  14. That was really lucky. Hawkins with poor control until the last 2 hitters, over 40, pitching more than 20 pitches, in a night that is incredibly humid.
  15. What part of Hawkins not having control makes him a good choice for inning #2?
  16. Holliday is a much better fielder than Braun is.
  17. Unless Counsell is coming into to play SS going forward he should not be in the on deck circle
  18. Nope that wasn't an imposter. McGehee is still slow
  19. I love how a small market is a team that doesn't win. Houston is a huge market, #6 in the US at 5.9m.
  20. The Red Hot, hitting with the intensity of 5 suns Betancourt has a wOBA of .323 for his incredibly productive July. Hariston has a wOBA of .322 for the season.
  21. Yeah but that percentage only occurs where the Cardinals finish ahead of the Brewers for the division while the Brewers still finish ahead of the Braves. Most likely if the Brewers have a better record than the Braves they'll win the division. The Cardinals have a 4.0% shot at the WC after all.
  22. How can you sit in the dugout and see that and think "hey its OK I'll keep running him out there"?
