  1. I was at the game yesterday and from where I was sitting it really looked like Rowand went around in the 9th against CoCo. Of course they don't show the replay at the game so I have no idea if he actually went around or checked his swing in time? Was anyone watching on TV that could let me know if the ump made the right call?
  2. I think the game yesterday was by far the most disheartening brewer loss ever that I can remember anyway. UP by 5 runs in the 9th, and losing the game with a chance to go up by 2 games in the division. You just can't lose games like this and win the division. I think Wise is done in Milwaukee and CoCo needs at least a demotion for a little while. Linebrink is unbelievable lately so put him in the closer's role.
  3. Wise's career is over! I have never seen a pitcher with less confidence than him. When he booted that ball hit right back at him yesterday and then when he gave up the homer he just had a look on his face that said I don't care! He will never be the same pitcher again so I think it is time to place him on waivers and give him a minor league assignment. No one will claim him now.
  4. Since Wise hit Lopez in the head he has just not been there at all. I bet they will find a way to put him on some reserve list the rest of the season for it. How else do you explain going out and throwing 10 straight balls Ricky Vaughn style? What would Villanueava be put on the DL for? He would have to go down to the minors and may get straightened out just like Weeks is. Parra is pitching way too well to go down. He is the one in the long relief role so when Vargas or Suppan or Capuano get lit up early he enters!
  5. Parra needs to stay up. Villanueva could use some time at AAA to figure out what is wrong. But my guess is Wise is headed for the DL. He is messed up in the head right now.
  6. I guess there is a reason why Estrada was traded 3 times. Hope this has the same effect as the Barrett-Zambrano fight did where the crew goes on a tear now.
  7. Capuano should be removed before anyone. Hasn't won a game since May!
  8. Capuano maybe should be replaced instead. He hasn't won a game since May!
  9. Go get him Dougie! While your at it grab another bat too!
  10. Only hole is in left field. They either sign a guy for one year or give it to Gross/Gwynn/Nix and let the three of them duke it out in Spring Training. La Porta is starting there in '09. Weeks will rebound next year, just too good of a pure hitter not to.
  11. Totally rip on them everytime the Cubs lose. Be relentless in this and they will leave you alone. Though Cubs fans are used to losing it is a very sore subject for them.
  12. The thing that puzzles me is that when he is on he is probably the most unhittable pitcher I have ever seen. But when he is off he can't get anyone out. He has given up some game winning hits to some very marginal hitters and no closer should do that.
  13. Can someone else beside Braun do something at the plate here? Seems like the box score everyday has Braun with 3 or 4 hits and maybe two or three other players with a hit. What has happened to Prince? Doesn't seem to be driving the ball anymore?
  14. That is 3 straight innings of getting roughed up in the closers role! His stuff is just not there anymore. His slider is either in the dirt or hanging down the middle of the plate. His fastball is way to hittable when hitters are sitting dead red waiting for it. Could we see Turnbow reclaim the role or Linebrink in the role soon? Afterall, Ned said we are in a pennant race and how many of these outings can you take. The last two are the difference between a 2 1/2 game lead and a 4 1/2 lead!
  15. I like Inman as a prospect. However, when was he gonna pitch in Milwaukee. Suppan is in the rotation for the next 3 seasons whether we want him to be or not. That also would include Gallardo, Villanueva, and Parra. I would like to see Sheets get extended. That would be 5 pitchers and then we need to figure out what to do with Cappy, Bush, Vargas, and even Zack-Jack. There is just no room in Milwaukee for Inman.
  16. Yesterday Braun is out of the lineup! Today it is Fielder! Come on guys we only lead the lowly Cubs by 2 games now and we are resting our best players! Absolutely no sense of urgency from this team at all!
  17. Call up La Porta if he can hit as well as Braun.
  18. Will not be playing for Crew next year for $9 mil a season to be part time player. Team will not pick up option and will only be back at discounted rate. I am sure someone will pay for his services though.
  19. Is it just me or does Estrada seem to be dogging it out there when running the bases. On 2 different occasions he would have beaten a play out at first if he had just run instead of trot to first. Last night on the double play ball, Conine took his time throwing home and then after a triple clutch by the catcher on the throw back to first they still somehow got the jogging Estrada out at first. You should be going all out to first to avoid the double play there, since the Brewers would have won last nights game had he beaten it out and he should have given how the play happened. He did the same thing on Sat on the play Lincecum dropped the ball 3 times while covering the base. Again would have been safe had he run it out. Does this guy have an attitude problem and just not care or is he really just that slow?
  20. Balfour and Spurling should both be DFA'd. I could stomach holding on to Balfour more than Spurling though. Balfour appears to have good stuff, just not controlling it right now. Spurling is just bad and I am not sure what Melvin ever saw in him. Fact of the matter is they need to add another reliable reliever or two before next weeks deadline.
  21. Gross has become to much of a bang or bust hitter. He will hit a towering home run in one AB and then strike out the next 3. When he pinch hits at the end of games like he does many times he is a strike out victim. He is truly the 25th man on this roster so why not send him down.
  22. Spurling = very bad - How many more outings like yesterday must we watch before Melvin DFA's him. I can't imagine anyone would claim him on waivers honestly. Balfour does not look as good as he was advertised. I know someone on this site was saying that he was hitting 96 consistently and I think he was only getting up to 93 when I watched the other night.
  23. A: Craig Counsell Q: Who need's to be pinch hit for in the Bottom of the 8th? He has not had a clue vs Lincecum today. Let's hit Graffi, Mench, and Hart next inning.
  24. The cubs finally lose a game and now we are going to bail them out. Is it just me or does it seem like the Brewers are playing with little or no emotion today? I know Lincecum is pitching well but come on guys, lets put something together.
