  1. Sheets pitches terribly in Houston! Why would they even want him?
  2. That call that let Bourne reach first when he was bunting was ridiculous! His knee was over the frickin plate when he got hit and he was still squared around to bunt. Without that play Blum probably never even comes to the plate in that inning. However, Kapler left the bases loaded twice in the game. If he comes up with a hit even once the Brewers have a good chance to win the game. Also, Sheets has got to start pitching better. If not we will end up resigning him next year cause no one else is gonna give him much. If he can't win 18-20 games for the Crew this year, who else is he gonna win games for.?
  3. Cecil Cooper predicted this weekend that the Astros would sweep the Brewers in this series. Going against CC, Sheets, and Parra and he expected to sweep the Crew. It was great seeing his face with every run the Crew put up last night. The Astros had been an overachieveing team lately and Coop is dreaming if he thought they could sweep the Brewers and still win 90 games this year! EDIT: Removed excessive punctuation from subject line - BtA
  4. As difficult as it would be I say root for the Cubs. If STL could get swept which I think is indeed possible, and if the Crew takes care of business you are looking at more comfort for the WC. I would rather have that at this point. We still have 7 games with the Cubs so we can still control our own destiny for the division if we take care of business there. We don't face the Cards much more so I would rather see them lose as much as possible at this point.
  5. I think 90 wins would get them the Wild Card. I think the Cards and the Marlins will eventually level out and both will end up around 83-86 wins. I think the Mets and Phillies will both end up with about 88 wins leaving the Brewers as the wild card with 90 wins and the Cubs will probably win 94 to take the division in my opinion.
  6. Cubs fans buy those tickets to regular season games early in the season or before it starts. I am sure they will be out in full force at the end of the season as well. The playoff tickets can not be sold ahead of time and season ticket holders will get first opportunity so I don't think as many Cub fans will get their grubby hands on them.
  7. He is not used to pitching this many innings. He looks like he is tiring and I would not be surprised to see him on the DL again soon with some mysterious ailment. One thing is for sure he may be pricing himself back into Milwaukee's price range. Why would he get a huge deal elsewhere now since he has never won more than 12 games in a season and has really slowed down after his fast start.
  8. @Atl 2-1 @Cin 2-1 Wash 4-0 @ SD 2-1 @LA 1-2 Hou 2-1 Pitt 3-0 @STL 1-1 @ Pitt 2-1 19-8
  9. After this series they might as well purchase playoff tickets already! This is ridiculous!
  10. Sheets is not used to pitching this many innings in a season as of late. I hope he is not wearing down. If anything it may drive down his price in the offseason.
  11. I have faith that we sign Sheets or CC. One or the other and since Sheets has actually been average at best lately it may be him. With Yo taking CC's spot I think rotation is similar to what it is now and with the offense developing further I believe we will be 18-20 games over .500 at this time next year. Maybe make a trade to pick up a 2B if Ricky hasn't figured it out yet. Roberts maybe?
  12. I am torn on this one. On one hand Suppan is a veteran and has proven to be a gamer in the post-season so part of me thinks he'll pitch his way out of this funk. On the other hand he is pitching very poorly right now and it is tough to trot him out every five days right now. I actually have a bad feeling in games he is pitching right now. Realistically though they have to lie in the bed they made with him. They won't be able to trade him with that salary so they will just have to ride him out for the next two years. In games that CC, Sheets, and Parra pitch do not require much from the bullpen. When Bush, McClung or Suppan are pitching they should be on a short leash. When Suppan loaded the bases McClung should have been getting ready to come in and when the score got to 4-3 in the 5th, Suppan should have been pulled for McClung. That is the way that Yost should be treating his 4th and 5th starters, when they get in trouble take them out.
  13. Prince won't be making $10 mil. I believe Ryan Howard is getting $9 mil and Fielder is not putting up the numbers that Howard has as of yet so maybe Fielder gets in the $7-8 mil range. The Crew should put every resource they can into gettting Sheets or CC back. I would prefer CC, and think they should offer him 5 years @ $100 mil right now. Remember Gagne's $10 mil comes off the books and you could also lose Cameron's $7 mil and Sheets $11 mil so why not? A rotation next year of CC or Sheets, Parra, Gallardo, Bush or McClung, and Suppan would compare nicely to the current rotation and the offense should only get better next year.
  14. I have heard 2 sides, one saying he pitched too many innings last year to be considered and another saying that he is indeed a rookie and eligible for the award. He came up around the same time as Soto last year so if Soto is eligible Parra should be as well. Anyone know for sure one way or another if he is eligible?
  15. I am not worried. He is throwing less pitches in 9 innings than Parra or Bush are throwing in 6-7 innings so there is no problem.
  16. I love to see this type of generosity. I would ask to be included but have the feeling that my boss would not let me off work so I will gracefully decline this time but hopefully all in attendance will see a beatdown of the Cubs!!!!!
  17. Hardy to 3B, Escobar at SS, Weeks at 2B and hopefully Billy Hall can get hot at the end of the year so we could deal him in the offseason. Gamel should move to 1B or corner outfield spot.
  18. Score a lot of runs. The Cardinals are due to come down to earth sooner or later and neither their pitching or lineup are any better than average, so the key is to score a lot of runs.
  19. Why? I don't see how this helps the team. If Taschner were included I like the deal but I just don't see what Ray Durham at this point in his career really gives us. He probably takes Dillon's spot on the club and is he really that much better than Dillon?
  20. They should be nervous right now. It is just like a year ago except this year the Crew catches them and doesn't look back.
  21. Wasn't this game supposed to be on Fox?
  22. I just checked it out. It looks like $27 for a terrace reserved is the cheapest right now. Does the price typically go down or up closer to the game?
  23. Does anyone know where I could get tickets for this game? I know bobble days are tough to come by, but does anyone know where else to find tickets for sale without paying a ton of money on ebay.
  24. I wish they would bring up Pena. Major Leaguers have not seen him yet so I would try to sneak him in there to see if he could be effective. Plus it sounds like after early struggles he really righted the ship and has been very good as of late.
  25. East: Mets 90-72 Philllies 86-76 Marlins 78-84 Central Cubs 95-67 Brewers 92-70 Cardinals 83-79 West Dodgers 84-78 D-Backs 82-80
