  1. I use Firefox, so the font sizes will change just fine. I'm referring to situations where changing the font size breaks the layout in some way. That often means that the text I want to read extends outside of its box. As an example, if it were to happen here (it doesn't), we'd possibly be seeing message text extending into the striped blue background. It might the temporary fix [CTRL+ (CMD+ on Mac)], changing the default font size in the browser's preferences, changing the minimum font size in the browser's preference, or applying site-specific CSS that can cause this. ESPN has been known to be guilty. Brian's sites work just fine. As a matter of fact, Lambeauleap is a model site when it comes to doing things right.
  2. This article by Keith Law is a great reference: Death, Taxes, and Major League Waivers
  3. My house is about 120 feet from the road, and I can hear subwoofers booming with the doors and windows closed. My gripes of the day: Web pages with tiny fonts, especially web pages with tiny fonts that can't be adjusted 'up' gracefully. People who think that there are exceptions to no-passing zones. The road in front of my house is clearly marked with a double yellow line. Yesterday, as I was turning right into my driveway, the truck behind me zipped by. That didn't really affect what I was doing, but with the hill ahead, it certainly opened the door to the possibility of witnessing a pretty bad accident.
  4. ezBoard doesn't have an ignore feature. Yuku will offer one.
  5. Jeff Passan seems to be the point man when it comes to writing articles about blackouts. Here's a new one that came out today: Possible progress on blackout issue, Jeff Passan, 2007-05-02
  6. Because threads in the Major League forum are currently 'living' for only a month, I'm going to cross-post my message from the Gallardo middle relief thread regarding playoff rosters. Baseball Glossary gets into exceptions: (edit: removed dead link)
  7. Unfortunately, BP generally doesn't tell us how they calculate their stats. I suppose its because they 'sell' them.
  8. That would be Brian. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. An OPS that's 100 or so points off over 27 games isn't a lot to get bent about.
  10. I don't see Tony out-performing a mediocre-hitting Bill Hall.
  11. Billy's overall OBP is close to where it's been the past two years. It's his SLG that's off so far.
  12. This year's rule change virtually eliminates ties. The Brewers-Marlins game a couple weeks ago was the first one to be affected by it. Games where the home team loses a lead in the top of an inning have been 'suspendable' for a long time.
  13. I believe Ned said that he'd probably be starting Counsell, Hart, and Miller in today's game. I'd like to see him get Damian in vs. at least one of those Pirate lefties.
  14. Good work. That must have been difficult.
  15. You just jinxed us, trwi7. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I think you can do the brooms, but I'm not so sure about the other word.
  16. Ben also said that he was disappointed that he didn't extend his hitless streak.
  17. Don't say the you-know-what word. It isn't in the cuss filter anymore. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Bill Hall just made Sheets look a whole lot better.
  19. It happened to Gorman Thomas in the 1982 World Series. But I digress. Back to relief pitching.
  20. I've been experiencing ezBoard balkiness the past week or so. I think it's just coincidence.
  21. Wow. Nine of the sixteen NL teams have had downright rotten production at 3B over the first month of the season.
  22. We can't pardon it. Brewerfan.net asks that members not circumvent the cuss filter with stuff like "@#%$". If the cuss filter happens to produce something like "@#%$", members are asked to edit it out. Use of excessive punctuation is made clear in the FAQ. One (maybe two?) exclamation points is enough.
  23. This site says Mench is a free agent after 2009. However, I believe he'll be eligible to declare free agency after 2008. He's definitely won't be a free agent this year.
  24. The broadcasters have been grossly underestimating Fielder's speed tonight.
