  1. I'd bet almost anything it's for Taschner. Why?? Because he got up in the pen today, then inexplicably sat down, and I don't think the Giants had anyone else warming at the time. For those that listened, you may Remember Ueck joking about how Jack had left the park, went home, caught the last few innings on TV and then fired up the grill. lol But him getting up then sitting back down, really makes me think it's him. Booooooo if true. I want another BIG move Doug!!
  2. Well, normally I am the pessimist and say this one is over. However, I have/had a feeling this one still winds up as a "W". That was until the Crew went 1-2-3 in the 5th. Now, I will go back to declaring this one over, at the same time the Cardinals have closed to within one run. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  3. No TV at all tomorrow??? We don't even get to see Sheeter pitch?? That is just wrong. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  4. Against this putrid SF offense, 1 run may be all CC needs. I'd feel better with 2 or 3 more though!! Let's go Crew, big opportunity tonight.
  5. The tone will be set in SF coming right out of the break....They are going to have to face Cain and Lincecum. The Giants offense doesn't scare me especially against Sheets and CC. If the Brewers can somehow manage to win the series(which would mean beating one of those two), that could propel them to great things the 2nd half. But, as I said in another thread, the end of July is truly make or break for the Crew. 4 @ STL and 4 @ home vs. The Cubs. Those two series will truly determine where this team is headed the rest of the year.
  6. No worries "Mr. bases loaded" will get it done here.
  7. Even the Brewers can't screw this up can they??
  8. To not win this game for CC would be a damn shame. They need to feed off this energy.
  9. I'll play.... 1. The Brewers sweep the Cubs @ home the last week of July and take over first place in the division, and the lead see saws back and forth before the Brewers gain control on or about August 20th and cruise from there. 2. Melvin makes a couple more deals before the deadline, for probably a bullpen arm and possibly a LH power bat off the bench. 3. Matt Stairs becomes a Brewer, again. 4. Ned moves Corey Hart back to the leadoff spot and Rickie down to the 5 hole where he starts to get it together.
  10. The month of July, specifically the last part of July will tell the story for this team. 4 @ STL, followed by 4 at home vs. The Cubs. Yes, that truly is, make or break.
  11. Wow, what a comeback by Pitt. They just beat STL with 4 in the 9th to tie, then Glaus homered in the 10th to put STL up 11-10, and then the immortal Jason Micahels hit a walk off two run jack in the bottom of the 10th to win it 12-11.
  12. As Brewer fans we should've seen this coming. The easiest 10 game home stretch on paper all year and the best they can do is 6-4. How awesome, they are playing down to the competition again. See: Usbaldo Jimenez, Josh Fogg and Glendon Rusch. No excuse not to be 8-2 on this home stand. That's what good teams do. I think the CC trade has made them complacent. Ahhhh, we have CC now, just show up and we will win every night.
  13. Well, now down 6 games in the division=Over. 1 1/2 in the Wild card = playing catch up again.. Way to get it done at home Brewers. Let's just hope like you know what that they don't go in the tank coming out of the all star break.
  14. Russell is soooooo overdue....I'm feeling it here. Edit: Or maybe not. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. That is where plate approach and discipline is so important. The count was 2-0. In that situation, a patient hitter(like Jason Kendall) probably takes at least two more pitches there. A walk is a run.
  16. Well, that was probably their best shot and once again, it goes by the wayside.
  17. It is imperative that the crew finds a way to win this game. The Cubs already won, and STL is up on Pitt 5-2.
  18. Sure we arent playing good right now this past week, but nothing to worry bout yet! This is entirely the problem. If you can't go at least 8-2 or 7-3 on a homestand against 3 of the worst teams in the NL(if not all of baseball), then you have problems. You are not going to win a division when you split a series at home against Colorado, and lose a series to Cincinnati.
  19. As long as the Cubs continue to have that horseshoe planted firmly in their you know whats, it's time to worry. The Crew needs to keep their lead within 5 or less the rest of the way or they are toast for the division(which is what I really want, but I'll take the Wild card).
  20. Well, that was fast...with Volquez on the hill, that may very well do it. Great job Brewers letting the division slip away right before the All Star break simply because you couldn't hit the likes of Glendon Rusch, Josh Fogg, and Usbaldo Jimenez. Way to want it Crew!!!
  21. You've got to steal....I have a feeling about kendall here.
  22. What will make this loss extremely tough(if it happens), is you have to face Volquez tomorrow. That's not good. Who would've thought that in what was perhaps on paper your best shot(though unrealistic it may have been), to go 10-0 on a home stand and you are looking at 5-3 after tonight and staring 5-4 right in the face.....absolutely brutal and inexcusable especially given the Pitchers they faced on this home stand.
  23. Is it me or does it always seem like the Brewers have the bottom of the order up in the 9th, in games the are trailing in??
  24. Boy if there was ever a time for Prince.....
