  1. anyone else feeling a CC buzz kill after the harden deal was announced? i'm sure i'll get excited once he starts pitching, but right now my excitement is quite dampened.
  2. Sweet. No where i'd rather be then on the opposite end of a skip bayless prediction. K prediction: 11 (3 looking)
  3. what about the possibility of pitching with some kind of knee brace to severally limit the potential for reinjury?
  4. Kind of an unlucky game (though the brewers were lucky to have kapler and counsel on base in the 8th). Both the pickoffs were close plays as was the stolen base by the rockies which result in a run. Braun hit two balls hard with men in scoring position that ended up being 4 outs instead. Can't win em all.
  5. I'm surprised the Rockies are even going to play this series. I figured they would just forfeit because we acquired CC.
  6. I did as well. I doubt he gets those emails but i figured what the heck. I did the same thing for charles woodson when he signed with the packers.
  7. give this link a try for video of the press conference earlier today --> link if that doesn't work go to mlb.com in the center of the page they have the rotating main stories. click on the little picture of cc's face and click the "brewers on deal" link. edit: i think the link should work now.
  8. not until now. cc obviously understands the value of the interwebs. that is some quality photo shopping.
  9. Starter for starter sure, but it doesn't factor in saving the bullpen. CC will certainly go deeper into games then McClung/Bush which will result in a rested bullpen and using the weaker pitchers in the pen less.
  10. Its official. WORLD SERIES OR BUST. I'm so glad the brewers are rolling the dice. This was the year to take a shot.
  11. That because of one man. Ben Sheets. In all this talk of not getting too emotional about acquiring CC, I think we also need to remember not to fall too in love with prospects. I remember back when JJ Hardy was a prospect everyone was raving about his defensive ability like Escobar. Now posters are saying he's average.
  12. I'll be hoping for lots of short starts and bullpen use.
  13. Big picture i see a team that's 75-85 wins every year. I don't know the minor league system as well as a lot of posters on this board, but as far as i can tell there aren't a lot of really good pitching prospects poised to make the leap. With a good chance of Sheets pitching somewhere else next year, this maybe the last good shot the brewers have at a championship. Sheets, CC, Suppan, Parra is a rotation that can beat any team in a 7 game series. If Yo makes its it back for the playoffs, then the out look is even better.
  14. I guess the question is do we want a team that is always a player short of the playoffs but a decent team every year or do we want the franchise to take a serious shot at a world championship for the sacrifice of the future. I'm gonna wait to see where this team is in late july, but if they are within 3 games of the wild card and or division i'd be willing to roll the dice. I just want to experience the playoffs once in my life. Plus a rotation of Sheets, CC, Parra, maybe Yo, and Suppan would be one that could go up against any pontential playoff teams' rotation.
  15. i think yost should have been fired a long time ago, but i can't really put this inning on him. mota has been good in the 8th way more times then not. with no gagne and no riske, the back end of the bullpen is a little bare right now. we just haven't noticed it with how well the starters have pitched.
  16. i guess this is why sheets wants to pinch 9 innings every time out. what is it about road games? is it really that different?
  17. ben's fastball is 88-90 right now according to fsn rocky mountain right now.
  18. Not to say Gabe Kapler is bad defensively, but i'd rather have Cameron's defense in that huge coor's field outfield.
  19. I right there with you. Seemed like a wise purchase at the time. Just came off a big year and signed an extension.... All I have to say about Billy is he's obviously not talented enough to party and chase tail and hit right handed pitching. Maybe instead of worrying about being traded he should show some commitment to his job.
  20. what is ned yost thinking? i really can't even believe it. even if it works bringing in gagne after pitching two innings yesterday is so monumentally stupid. why do the brewers have to have a manager they have to consistently overcome rather then a manager who puts their players in a position to win? why wasn't this guy fired after last year's collapse ? edit: mistakes from typing angry.
