  1. It would really be more like 5/38 since 2017 would not be part of the extension but I agree 72 million would be too high at this point. Around the 60 million mark would be reasonable to me though. Unlike Villar, you will get solid defense even if he doesn't sustain the hitting so the floor is higher, maybe an Alcides Escobar type player at the worst. Perhaps make the 7th year a club option with buyout to reduce the guaranteed money a bit.
  2. Since Suter went 6 innings today maybe he can do even better next time out, maybe 7.1 innings.
  3. I would love to see a deal that buys a couple years of free agency, he is the real deal.
  4. I don't see Hader or Espino making the next start. Think they are keeping the 40 man spot open for Blazek but it wouldn't make sense to call him up today after he just started. If Lopez pitches well then I think Espino is back down but at the very least they have some guys in the bullpen now with options with Lopez/Espino/Suter/Hader.
  5. I know that Arcia wasn't known for his offensive skills in the minors but he really looks like a hitter up there and you can see the confidence he has in himself. With the way other hitters struggle at Biloxi it makes me appreciate in hindsight what a year he had in 2015 for them.
  6. Stokes was also mentioned quite a bit and the lack of power that was a criticism has emerged this year.
  7. So are you saying Broxton is tier one or tier three because Broxton would most likely bring back just as much as a Will Smith type trade. Don't know how Broxton could be traded at this point without getting a top 100 prospect back in return. I guess I could see Broxton getting traded for major league talent in return.
  8. Just a FYI for the terrace playground the child has to be 48 inches or less, they do measure. The fiberglass sausage statues are still there but further down the right field line. Again don't know the age of the child but my kids liked the Selig experience and hearing about the old Brewers.
  9. To be fair any A ball pitcher is going to look bad in the majors. I am one of the guys that doesn't care that Diaz was left unprotected but wouldn't use his major league stats this year to prove my point because his stats this year are worthless.
  10. Not listed because he will be a free agent is Angel Ventura, another guy though that they will consider adding or potentially include in trade.
  11. I don't know how it came across on television but I can't recall a better one from a Brewer that I saw in person.
  12. Ted Williams being awesome doesn't make Dimaggio's streak any less impressive. Both are remembered and talked about still today.
  13. While it is still unknown if losing Diaz is a bad thing at least it should result in an win today and bullpen usage that will impact the rest of the series.
  14. With the quality of return that the Brewers have received back from trading some of their own relievers and the lack of performance from those relievers after being traded I am confident Stearns won't be making any big relief pitching trades this year. It may be difficult at times to watch but as pointed out by others I would think he would try some more of the in house options.
  15. Suter was the 26th man yesterday then sent down and Espino called up after Woodruff was put on the DL so no further moves are necessary at this point.
  16. I'm not really disappointed but with all of these trades and drafts if they don't acquire a Braun or Fielder type talent I will be disappointed. So I am not looking for any particular player to be that player but hopefully one emerges.
  17. I hope they give Espino a shot at the pen and remove some of the dead weight. It certainly doesn't look like Espino is an option to start at the big league level so might as well see if he can be a piece of the bullpen. If not then he isn't long for the 40 man roster.
  18. It is very Hernan Perez like with his OBP but he is at 289/300/684 for the month of June.
  19. That is a good point. I wouldn't think they would go through the hassle just for the second game of a double header however they recalled Cravy previously and sent him back down before a game was even played so maybe.
  20. Suter was named the 26th man but they can just as easily send down Woodruff and keep Suter. They just have to keep Suter for both games today.
  21. Burnes wouldn't be added in September as that would just be bad roster management to add a guy to the 40 man in September when he doesn't need to be added in the off season. Compete for a spot in Spring Training, maybe.
  22. they can't bring him up unless there is an injury for 10 days (not 100% sure of the number, but someone will know). i just know there is a time required between callups for the same player. as others have said, i am way past the point of Feliz needs to be DFA'd. I am getting close on Peralta. I also would be fine with removing Franklin and Rivera off of the 40 man, so thats 4 easy. I wouldn't bring in Woodruff to just hang out in the pen though. Not for the 26th man, Espino can be called up tomorrow and then has to be sent down the next day because he is still in the 10 day period. If a guy like Suter is called up as the 26th man he can stick around if they get rid of somebody else.
