  1. I don't care about either, since I am a fan I care more about the fan here, both Cubs and Brewers. There are plenty of fans that paid lots of money for a game that had no reason to be cancelled.
  2. Espino took it. 40 man currently full.
  3. With Suter being optioned yesterday I imagine Cravy finally gets called back up, at least until Guerra is ready next week.
  4. Since you are staying at the Best Western I might recommend just walking to Miller Park from there if it is a nice day, save you money on parking. The closest store to there that would have Brewers gear is the Target not too far from the Best Western, would be cheaper than the team shop. There are a bunch of stores/food on Miller Park Way directly south of the stadium. The Brewers have a very lenient carry in policy so feel free to bring in peanuts, bottled water and soda (no cans), candy or an entire tub of KFC as they don't really care as long as it is not alcohol.
  5. Could be but then they will have to send somebody else to the minors to make room for Guerra. Based on past moves Suter is likely to go back down but if they like Espino as a starter maybe Davies is optioned if he doesn't turn it around.
  6. From my experience when collecting in this time period error cards could be worth something but blank back cards like you are describing were never really worth much. Maybe if you find a big Puckett fan you might get a few bucks but I wouldn't count on it.
  7. Nice job by Ventura today. Only 24 but a minor league free agent after the year so should be interesting to see how he performs the rest of the year.
  8. Peralta used his last option in 2016 so he would have to go through the same DFA process.
  9. Counsell has affinity for bench players and the two guys in struggling the most in the Brewer lineup just happen to play the same positions that Sogard plays. Don't be shocked if he gets some starts. Sogard has more walks than strikeouts. He can be useful. Didn't take long, Sogard starting tonight for Arcia.
  10. I would certainly think so, especially getting him cost controlled through his prime years, free agent at 33. Out of all of the Brewer outfielders, when considering age, good defense and salary he probably brings back the most with the exception of Brinson.
  11. I think that works more in football than baseball. It is asking a lot for a season seat holder to go to 81 games and the Brewers rely on the season seat holders to buy weeknight games and early season games. Not going to punish those people for selling the Cubs games when they are paying money for the less appealing games.
  12. They already have too many pitchers, can't see it being a pitcher. Agree it could be any position player and not just OF, since Perez is going to be playing a bunch of OF maybe bringing up Rivera and his plus defense might be a decent option. Wouldn't even mind seeing Rivera and Wren up and DFA Franklin while they are at it. Just don't see them bringing up Brinson, Maverick, Cordell right now.
  13. I think if you are considered cream of the crop like Brinson is then he will get a spot. Holdovers like Santana and Broxton will need to continue to produce to keep a job or build enough trade value to bring something back in return that the Brewers need. Guys like Phillips and Cordell will have to fight for playing time and with all their options remaining may be stuck in AAA longer than they want. A player like Wren that can play all outfield positions may be brought up just to be a backup because I doubt he is considered starter material by the Brewers. Clark, Ray, Clark are at least a couple of years away and by the time they have to make a decision on them some will bust and some of the current crop will either be traded or move on because they are not producing. To me it is a good thing and gives the Brewers a better chance of sustaining success.
  14. The Red Sox have shown they are willing to trade with the Brewers and did before the trade deadline last year with Hill. Considering they are trotting Kyle Kendrick out there and falling further and further behind the Orioles and Yankees, it would be an upgrade to obtain Garza and they could obtain him sooner rather than later if they want.
  15. I'm actually curious why you think Thames an Perez are overpaid.
  16. I have been against moving Peralta to the bullpen ever since the topic was brought up. However at this point I think he should be moved and perhaps he can become an effective bullpen piece. I agree paying Peralta $6 million or so to be a reliever is a bit much but the payroll will be low again next year and maybe some other team will see value with Peralta as a reliever and the Brewers can get something in return.
  17. Sometimes you just get lucky, Betancourt doesn't look like he will ever play for the Brewers and Pina was the PTBNL. It could have been a nothing trade for the Brewers but fortunately Pina has outperformed expectations.
  18. Since Nick Ramirez was mentioned in the original post does anybody have scouting information on him? It has impressed me that he has been able to pitch so well at AA after so many years away from the mound, it is not like they had him start the year at Wisconsin. Does he have big league potential, especially considering he is a lefty? It would seem to me they might want to aggressively push him to AAA just to see how he does especially considering he is rule 5 eligible and may need to make a decision on if he is 40 man worthy or not after the season.
  19. Hopefully we get to see him next weekend.
  20. With only a four man bench I imagine they call up some position player soon.
  21. Well it is a community ranking and the more people that vote I think the better the list. As has been seen in the past a guy can be ranked #1 by an individual and still not end up in our top 25 so overall we still do a real good job as a whole.
  22. For those still interested in the Star Wars Package it has been reduced to $19.77 for today, which includes a ticket in Bernie's Terrace and a bobble. Off topic some but in regards to the above Stubhub fees are outrageous. A $11 ticket ends up being closing to $18. I liked it better when they showed the actual bottom line ticket price for a while.
  23. I tend to think they will let him have some success at low A but at some point they will have to make a decision on him. After the 2018 season Harrison along with a bunch of other guys like Lara, Gatewood, Stokes, Diaz, Ponce, Kirby, Medeiros,Yamamoto etc. will be eligible for the rule 5 draft so I would like management to have as much information as possible on these players in order to make an informed decision and not keep on losing a bunch of guys with upside to the rule 5 draft.
