  1. It is probably getting too late at this point but with only 12 games remaining and probably at least two bullpen games left but would like them to make a play for Andrew Cashner. Could pitch him in the Cubs series if they scratch his start tomorrow and they would avoid having a bullpen game the last week of the year. I don't think he is good enough to get a qualifying offer so maybe wouldn't take much at this point.
  2. If Suter is long relief and Hader is in the bullpen how is the rotation set? Anderson/Davies/Woodruff/?/?.
  3. Sometimes it is about who gets hot at the right time and if the Brewers win out this week they will be guaranteed to be in first by at least a half a game by the end of the day Sunday.
  4. I was too young for 82 but really enjoyed a the 87/88 seasons.
  5. Everybody was trying to get into preferred parking yesterday since it was $10 and many ended up redirected to general.
  6. I can't really cut and paste but Rule 40(a)(3) explains how Wilkerson can replace Nelson.
  7. Yes Rivera was eligible, he was on the 40 man all year up to this point.
  8. Is Yadiel Rivera a free agent after the season?
  9. When buying tickets I prefer buying at Miller Park because then there are no convenience fees which add up and I do prefer the hard tickets to the print at home. However, when you are trying to get tickets to a high demand game you certainly can buy them faster and have a better chance at the cheap diamond box seats going online.
  10. As the days wind down the Brewers continue to control their own destiny, that is all that I want. As long as the Brewers keep winning they win the division, no backing into the playoffs for the Brewers, Cubs or Cardinals.
  11. I got Loge Diamond Box behind the plate for Saturday for my family of 4, good deal at $10 a piece.
  12. Yes, it was slightly less than a year difference. Trout turned 18 in August of his draft year and Lutz 19 in August of his draft year. However, like you indicated nobody is saying he will end up being like Trout, just looking at the physical look.
  13. No, but there are minor leaguers fully stretched out and ready to go. This might work though since Anderson pitched so littler against the Cubs.
  14. Now that I disagree with. On any given game one starter can outpitch another and as the Brewers have seen before a new pitcher can fool big leaguers for a few inning. It is certainly possible whoever pitches Wednesday can give the same quality for 5-6 innings as Nelson would have.
  15. Yeah I don't see any way of winning the Wild Card. If they start winning and take care of business against the Cubs and Cardinals they will win the division and if they don't win those games they can't catch the Rockies anyways.
  16. There is a point because they need a starter Tuesday. Is he better than a bullpen game, maybe, but certainly worth thinking about. Would for sure trot him out there instead of Garza again at this point.
  17. Why were the different Packers topics grouped into one as there was discussion with each of them? It is not like there is a ton of activity on the off topic section and when Packers discussion was moved there from Lambeau Leap it was noted that new topics for the Packers/Bucks/Badgers could be created as needed.
  18. Yeah, even with the division looking more and more of a longshot it sure seems that three game series to end the year will determine the final wild card.
  19. That is where his ability to walk help as his strikeout rate is really 24% vs. 29%. Not great, but cold live with it.
  20. Excuse me, last Thursday, Aug. 31, attendance was 26,384. In fairness, isn't capacity roughly 42k? 26k isn't exactly awesome. It is fine for a Thursday considering playoff contenders Arizona, Baltimore, Minnesota, Cleveland, Miami and Tampa don't even average that many per game much less on the Thursday before many start school.
  21. The Brewers, 0.5 games out of the Wild Card, just drew sub 18k last Thursday. So, yeah. We don't really care either. No they didn't.
  22. The MLB site isn't very detailed, if say Eric Sogard was injured today and out for the year they could petition MLB and replace him with Nate Orf. It isn't automatic but I don't know what would cause MLB to deny.
  23. If somebody gets put on the 60 day DL then a minor leaguer that wasn't on the 40 man at 8/31 can replace the injured player pending commissioner approval.
  24. It seemed likely the Brewers were going to do this after signing him but the guy is almost 33 and likely has lost a step or two since having success in the majors 3-4 years ago. Probably doesn't mean much one way or the other and will only get a few pinch running opportunities without hopefully ever swinging a bat.
  25. Yet Bernie Pleskoff only mentions the hitters.
