  1. The Phillies didn't pass on him, it was a trade. The Brewers didn't trade much so I doubt the Brewers would receive much of anything in return unless he proves something in the majors first.
  2. Thanks, I was kind of in a Brewers mindset with most of their bobble games on a Sunday, interesting how the Timber Rattlers mix it up so much. Wish the Brewers had more weekday promotions.
  3. You are correct he had been a great second baseman as recently as 2012 but he kind of fell of the cliff the last couple of years and it is pretty rare to come back from that.
  4. Also, were you mentioned at all in the articles that the Journal Sentinal was doing during fantasy camp?
  5. Working out at the gym. I also have kids and received a discount MLB package a couple of months in and watched a lot of games right after they aired after putting the kids to bed.
  6. I never attended any of the games with a bobble, since it is limited to the first 1,000 how early to you generally have to get there in order to get one? It seems like attendance is usually in the 5000 - 7000 range.
  7. I will be really sad if Lopez ends up being that bad. I guess I'll take it though if we get another Yount in the process.
  8. Kind of surprised Peterson wanted to stick around. Think Reed/Phillips/Broxton or Santana if sent down would get time in the outfield and Wilikins/Ramirez at first.
  9. If we are going to have a discussion of starters by level, whether it is pitching or positional players you have to take major league players into consideration, who are actually included in your original post. Maybe it can go in a different forum if you want but if a guy like Garza gets a spot or a guy like Anderson is traded for it will have a domino effect keeping prospects in the minors longer and bumping some players down a level. It also enables some players to still be called a prospect because if there were not alternatives they will be in the big leagues and no longer a prospect. Decisions at the major league level impact the entire organization.
  10. Yes, people might not like the guy but Stearns/Counsell have seemed to indicate Garza will get a spot. Really, there isn't much downside to having him in the rotation. Potential to increase trade value, lose some more games if he isn't good, pause the service time for other potential starters like Davies or Lopez.
  11. I think Robert hit it right on the head, defense is just going to be brutal. Average to below average everywhere so even if people have high hopes for the pitching staff I think the defense will let them down. Really just hoping one of Liriano, Cecchini, Villar, Walsh or Flores to turns into an above average player. Something to complement the future prospects that will be on the team soon.
  12. That is the thing, I don't think that happens. Stuff happens that could change things but I'm guessing only 1 of the Brewers top guys graduates, maybe zero.
  13. I would say this team has a pretty good shot at 100 losses, not that it is a bad thing. They were not a .500 team from July on, they were 37-46 which translates to 90 losses for a full season. Sure that is not 100 losses but 90 losses, 100 losses, either way it is pretty hopeless.
  14. With the way Stearns is approaching the rebuild I think it could be a while before it can be considered a failure. Even if Mark A gets impatient and fires Stearns, he has acquired so many low level prospects that a true determination may not be made for another decade. However, the way I see it is there is a nice wave of prospects coming up that could lead to winning and there is another wave further behind that could sustain the winning or hopefully push them over the top to a World Series. My guess is they won't have a winning record until at least 2019, especially with the division they are in right now.
  15. Regarding Gennett I am actually higher on him than in the past. Still think he can mash against righties and if he can improve his overall stats i think his trade value will be much higher later on. Also being heavily marketed by the team right now, whether it is the numerous radio interviews, the team store, selling season tickets or the event today in Milwaukee.
  16. They were fairly consistent at bats in August and September. However, that was during the 2014 season, when he had less than 100 at bats at AAA up to that point. He played a full season at AAA in 2015 and did rather well but didn't even get a September callup for some reason even though he played some of his best ball in August/September.
  17. With Flores I think most feel he will be on the major league team but don't know when because there is pretty much no updates on his injury status and when he might resume baseball related activities. Plus, he isn't really thought as a CF option so he is relegated to backup outfielder.
  18. It was amazing that Peterson lasted this long on the 40 man. Not much to lose in this trade even if Liriano somehow doesn't make the team.
  19. Sunday games with the kids are the most common game I go to so I'll take it as they always want a hot dog.
  20. Sure, however the Brewers already have 8 outfielders on the 40 man, which includes Nieuwenhuis and Peterson as light hitting left handed hitters that can play center. Who do you want to remove?
  21. Nothing official but Jonathan Mayo said the Brewers "moved to the top" in a tweet last week.
  22. I don't really care what minor league free agents are signed but I would be willing to bet it is a 100 loss team. Not complaining and still will attend games but I don't expect anything from this team. I can understand why fans that really want to see a winning team would be frustrated with the off season but signing anybody to a minor league contract shouldn't be one of reasons.
  23. If it means keeping a forum and adding content I am all for it. There are some pretty good articles up on DOU but very little discussion so it might be a good fit. Isn't there some affiliation with ESPN that has to be considered? Brewcrewball has articles and discussion but I have been reluctant to signup on their site.
  24. I see the rankings being fairly similar to what they are now except for guys acquired in trade. I don't expect much in the graduation department for 2016 from our previous ranking, except for Davies.
