  1. Ashby isn’t looking very good today. Hopefully he settles down very soon, otherwise he won’t make it through 4. Too many costly mistakes too, not covering first base and the wild pitch cost is runs.
  2. Yeah, that was a pessimistic take, even more so with the offensive struggles, the disappointing trade deadline, and playing against the Dodgers, but FanGraphs seemed to agree. The two walks were nearly a 14% increase in win probability, which was close to the percentage after the first Dodgers home run, so it wasn’t nothing. The Dodgers were more likely to win at that point. Lauer did a hell of a job getting out of that inning unscathed. I wonder what the likelihood was for that.
  3. Splitting the series against the Dodgers was about the best hopeful outcome they could get. Hopefully they can carry this against the Cubs now.
  4. All this because the ump didn’t call strike three to the first batter.
  5. Risky send, but I’m glad they did it. Great slide by Taylor.
  6. Especially right after getting hit in the collarbone.
  7. I’ll be realistic until they prove me otherwise, and I’ll keep watching until they do so.
  8. Yeah, although the game is still likely over, by not from that inning, lol.
  9. Wow… the likelihood of getting out of that couldn’t have been high. Nice job by Lauer.
  10. Two leadoff walks. This game is likely over already.
  11. I see that Gallo homered off us. Nothing like facing the Brewers to turn your woes the other way.
  12. It’s not going to happen, but if they don’t actually improve the offense, they might as will trade Burnes and Woodruff this off-season and load up on top-end prospects and hope they pan out in like five years. Of course, we’d trade them for nothing and then DFA whoever we got.
  13. It’ll be tough. I put the over/under for the Brewers offense for the series at about 3.
  14. They showed us this the last two off seasons by not signing any offensive help, even though it was severely lacking, while our best pitching was coming into their prime.
  15. My bad. I thought I read/saw somewhere that this was the last series against the Cardinals.
  16. So now we need to win the next two to have the tiebreaker since there isn’t a game 163 anymore. Not that a tiebreaker situation is going to come into play here…
  17. I’m on vacation so I haven’t been asked to keep up with hope things are going, but I think most of the fans would have been ok with the Hader trade if it or other moves would have improved the MLB team for this season. The moves at the trade deadline don’t appear to have done that (although it’s early) and the decisions like the Lamet fiasco further compound the frustration/anger/confusion.
  18. The Adames and Tellez acquisitions were good, but again there could have been some more offensive acquisitions done at the trade deadline. I don’t recall where our offense ended up, but I remember it being near the bottom of MLB for most of the season. The lackluster performance in the last month of the season and postseason highlighted our offensive shortcomings.
  19. For all the good things that Stearns has done for this franchise, not making enough/any supplemental moves to push the team to the next level after the 2018 season will go down as one of the biggest blunders and missed opportunities in franchise history.
  20. The only logical explanation that I can think of is that Stearns is trying to get let go so get can go be the Mets GM. So, the upside is that maybe Stearns will get fired. Yeah, like that would ever happen…
  21. We’re really going to get swept, aren’t we? Reminds me of the 5-game sweep in Pittsburgh right before the ASB a few years ago.
  22. We’re really going to get swept, aren’t we? Reminds me of the 5-game sweep in Pittsburgh right before the ASB a few years ago.
  23. I’ll admit that I’m very worked up over the last few days, but how management has approached these last few years has really bothered me. They haven’t done anything to really supplement the offense after their great run in 2018. We all knew their window was short with the best pitching in franchise history and they didn’t do anything to really improve the team. Yeah, they’ll be competitive for as few more years, but just making the postseason isn’t enough anymore. This trading deadline is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.
