  1. Can't be the pitching coach, right? I mean, DJ leaving was no big deal, right? I’m not suggesting that losing our pitching coach didn’t hurt, but how can the pitching coach help stopping giving up walks? “Throw strikes!” There, problem solved.
  2. It was obvious Burnes doesn’t have it anymore today after he started walking guys this inning. No idea why he’s still in there.
  3. While it looked like Braun was going to miss is, we never would know. There was some beer coming down before the ball got to Braun. Regardless, once the beer splashed all over Braun’s hat that should be a dead ball in my opinion. You never know how that could affect the play.
  4. I thought as well. The fan never actually touched the ball, but the fan spilled beer on him. Dumping beer on a player attempting to make a play should be interference by itself.
  5. Should be fan interference. Batter should be out. Fan should be ejected. Moron.
  6. The audio censor must have been asleep during Cain’s at bat. Some colorful language when he fouled off strike two.
  7. It doesn’t matter what the record is. How can you watch this team and not see how awful they are in all parts of the game right now? That’s why there’s the doom and gloom.
  8. Thank goodness. We need something to change with the pitching staff. Hopefully he can do a decent job. He could end up being our ace the way everyone else is pitching.
  9. The $18 million on Grandal was money well spent, IMO. What difference making pitcher would this team have acquired this off-season instead for $18 million? While I really like the Grandal signing, it’s an all-in move since it’s only a one year deal. That contradicts the decision to move the young guys to the starting rotation and letting them grow. In that regard I think this season will be the dark spot on Stearns’ resume.
  10. I never like the argument of “we still have a good record” or “everyone else is losing so we are still ok”. You can tell when the team has it or doesn’t, and this team hasn’t had it since after the first three series.
  11. No way was that foul. That’s why I hate instant replay in baseball. They seem to get it wrong so much.
  12. He's done very well the last couple outings. The first few outings he couldn't buy a strike. Hopefully he worked through whatever was causing that and he can be a reliable resource in the bullpen. Lord knows we need as much help there as we can get.
  13. Don't mention walking anyone... it's almost as taboo as mentioning signing certain available pitchers.
  14. I’d walk Yelich too, almost every at bat, if I was any other team.
  15. Also, the only guys I remember saying I’d walk this season were Goldschmidt (because he’s killing us), Bellinger (regarding the at bat where he hit the game-winning HR against Hader), and now Wong (because he’s killing us this season and there were two outs with a guy on third and the pitcher coming up).
  16. LOL. You'd walk everyone. Nah, just guys that are really hot or kill the Brewers (especially with the pitcher coming up). Although most of the league is killing Brewers pitching, so maybe I would walk everyone.
  17. What's the solution? Seems like they are pretty much trying everything. Let the kids pitch and take the lumps. One step back this year to take a whole bunch of steps forward in the coming years is worth it. None of these guys was ever going to be Kershaw or Scherzer and anyone expecting them to come up and light the world on fire had misguided expectations. Jettisoning them to the pen or a league they have already dominated isn't going to help in terms of being the answer. Were the Dodgers or Diamondbacks/Tigers one game away from the World Series the season before they decided to give Kershaw and Scherzer their opportunities? Did these teams try to see how 3/5 of a rotation would look like giving guys the chances to grow at that time? The Brewers weren’t in the right position to risk 3/5 of their rotation like they did this year. Not making the postseason this year would be a major failure in the eyes of most fans.
  18. Imagine if this team could pitch even closely to middle-of-the-road... Oh, wait, all is well with as-is. Never mind.
