  1. Yep ... regardless of all the "bullpenning" noise, the point remains that you put your top arms in the starting rotation. These guys are great talents, and are going to provide much more positives than negatives this year. It's important to remember that, while the team made some short-term moves to go after a World Series this year, the core is going to be around for at least 3-4 more years. The growing pains with the young starters now will likely pay off down the road. I’d rather have gone for the WS than rip apart the strengths of the team that was one win away from the WS last year. Why can’t they develop in the bullpen? Also, if the plan was to develop these guys, we should have kept Pina and Kratz as our catchers. No reason to bring Grandal in for one year if this isn’t “the year”.
  2. It really sucks because with the team being one game away from the WS we didn’t need to do much, just add some missing pieces. But we ripped our bullpen apart, trying out three young guys. Them being in the bullpen lessened their mistakes/shortcomings as the only pitched an inning or two. Now that they are starters, they are getting hit harder as they need to stay in longer. Then, we don’t have anyone in the bullpen that can pick them up. Should have left them in the bullpen and kept Miley.
  3. Yes, get Keuchel in the starting rotation so we can move one of the young guys to the bullpen. Clears up two issues of the many we have with the pitching staff.
  4. This game is already close to getting out of hand. Plus, we’ll be getting to our bullpen early, so game over.
  5. And you base this on what? I'm genuinely curious. The fact that Yelich is a FA after this year? Or that Shaw is? Or that we'll be losing Knebel, Jeffress, Wahl, Hader, Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Nelson next year? This idea that our window is closing is just fake. I can see the argument that we're close and were a game away from the WS last year, but that has nothing to do with the false narrative that our window is closing. The window is likely through 2022, or the end of Yelich's contract. Yeah, you are going to lose some of the older guys during that stretch to regression, like Braun and Cain, but the core of the team is young enough that you are getting their prime years during that window. This team was built incredibly sustainably. Yes, that’s 3 years after this season. That’s a short window in my opinion. If they don’t think this year is “the” year, that’s fine (although I’d argue against signing Grandal then), but whatever year is determined to be “the” year, extra money should be spent to get the last missing piece(s).
  6. While I’ve found out more about his sporting past, I’m still guessing most of his appearances are more for his business than not. He seemed to spend a lot of time waking around and taking pictures with people. You never know though. People want to take pictures with him?? That’s what I thought! Most people I know want to punch him in the face!
  7. He goes to many Bucks games. While I’ve found out more about his sporting past, I’m still guessing most of his appearances are more for his business than not. He seemed to spend a lot of time waking around and taking pictures with people. You never know though.
  8. On ad placement? Probably quite a bit. On ad production? Laughably little. Someone could record those on an iPhone. Him holding a baseball bat is about as unnatural as it gets. I always joked that he probably never even watched a sporting event, but I did see him in the Club level during the postseason last year.
  9. Yeah last year was such a waste for the Brewers But yes I’m very worried about Jesus I didn’t mean that last year was bad by any means, but Jesus didn’t do much after the all star break last year and he’s carrying that into this season. That two months of awesomeness that he had could hurt us in the long run. Now, maybe we never would have been in the running for Goldschmidt, but we may have a hole in the entire right side of the infield this whole season. Now, it may not matter with our lack of a bullpen, but that’s a separate topic.
  10. This game has a frustrating loss written all over it. Home runs by non-home run guys are killer. Our offense can’t get it going. Also, Jesus Aguilar is just not very good. The worst part is, he did so well in the first half last year that it took us out of the running for Goldschmidt.
  11. I agree. We are probably as close as we’ll get to a WS for the foreseeable future. Our window is short... spend the cash and go for it all!
  12. Our bullpen needs some bolstering. Can't only count on Hader. Big miss this offseason by pulling away from our strength and not really replacing anyone.
  13. I figured the likelihood of him driving in the tying run was greater than the next guy hitting an extra base hit that would score two. Might feel like that, but Suarez is really good. I wouldn't take my chances with him when you're basically changing the game winning hit from being a double instead of a HR on a day when the ball isn't carrying. Yeah, I just really dislike Puig. I failed to mention I’d walk him by drilling him in the ribs.
  14. Put the winning run on base? I figured the likelihood of him driving in the tying run was greater than the next guy hitting an extra base hit that would score two.
