  1. And I guess that I would argue that that mentality is why so many teams run out of gas at the end of the year. If you’re unable to see the forest for the trees, it could hurt you in the bigger picture. Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes you’re put in the crappy position of having to choose to pass on a race to finish the marathon. I agree with this, but it seems like he Brewers tend to pass on the more-easily winnable races that could pad their lead. They need like a 15 game lead to hold onto it, assuming they will be entering their standard mid-summer swoon.
  2. Allowing the pitcher to hit in scoring opportunities cost us the last two games. Also, I will never buy a Sol beer because of the annoying, overplayed commercial.
  3. Now that we can’t beat the bad teams, maybe we’ll be able to beat the Cubs.
  4. Yeah, I could see us not being in first by the ASB.
  5. 2nd and 3rd with no one out. I bet they can score...
  6. Stop walking leadoff hitters. They almost always score on us.
  7. More of the same garbage. 1st and 3rd with no outs and it results in no runs. It seems like this type of situation is happening daily and it’s killing us.
  8. If there aren’t relief pitchers, use a starter to get you multiple innings. I’m so tired of the bottom of the lineup rarely contributing.
  9. This game has a Brewers loss written all over it. Will be a very disappointing series if this is the case.
  10. I've received the "you must be a thrill at parties" because I've expressed disappointment with the Brewers as well and I don't get it. BTW... I've been told I'm a blast at parties, but that's probably because I wasn't worrying about the Brewers blowing opportunities at the time. Sure, the Brewers are in first place and have the best record in the NL, but we've seen this before, and it hasn't ended well. Yes, the Brewers bullpen has been amazing, and the starting pitching has come around for the most part. Without this, the Brewers would likely be .500, or worse. What is disappointing to me is, imagine how far ahead they could be if the bottom third of the lineup could even be hitting .240. The two game lead (or whatever it is) over the Cubs is basically not even a lead. We had a much more commanding lead at the All-Star break last year and saw it disappear about as fast as physically possible. If the bullpen wouldn't have blown like 15 games in the first month and a half of the season the Brewers could have easily won the division, but they didn't take advantages of opportunities. That's how I feel about this year. The Brewers are doing good, and their main competition hasn't done that well, but we can't count on that sticking through for another half season. I look back at 2014 as well and how commanding the Brewers lead was and how they let it slip away. This is the reason why so many Brewers fans take a pessimistic approach... we haven't seen them take advantage of opportunities on a consistent basis (with the exception of 2011... which was awesome). Being pessimistic doesn't mean that you aren't passionate about the team... in fact, it likely may be because you are extremely passionate about this team and just want... no, just need, this team to be successful... just once in our lifetime.
  11. Yep, and absolutely no hustle there. If he ran out of the box he could have been safe at first.
  12. Lead off double that never advances... the Brewers Special!
