  1. I also hate the inverse. I go 70 in a 65 and zip by 15 cars doing 65. Then it drops to 55 so I drop to 62 and 14 cars go by me doing 65. Makes me grumpy.
  2. Thanks for putting this up. The two things I quoted above were worth the price of admission. Also never heard Prince was a natural right hander. "It's a lefties' game" so says Cecil Now Gagne talk, nice.
  3. Vasgersion:"What does he do better than you?" Cecil:"Nothing" "Maybe he runs better, otherwise nothing" Also showed a clip of a young Prince hitting bp in a tigers jersey batting righty.
  4. This is my primary computer. When I get my home pc set back up I'll see what happens on it.
  5. Haven't noticed any change plus or minus cache clearing. It's on my laptop. Since I posted I restarted and checked back and all is well for now. Glad to hear it's not just me and my relative lack of computing knowledge screwing this up
  6. http://i43.tinypic.com/2jadoj5.jpg Here's what it looks like in a thread
  7. http://i42.tinypic.com/egk7d.jpg This seems to happen to me about once a week. The top of the screen looks like the navigation menu is open, but there is no choice to close it. Then the image in the screen cap. With all pulldown menus including forum jumps permanently open Then the bottom looks like my profile page only blue on blue. My other issue is sometimes(especially on very long threads) I will see the baseball icon and a new posters name, but when the ball is clicked I get the last post I read and no posts follow it. running windows xp and firefox 3.0ish Not so good at firefox formatting either Edited to add windows xp as I couldn't remeber what it was called. Almost said mojave
  8. I voted again. 23 21 20
  9. I have a WWII quasi-historian at work. I told him they get Hitler in the end and all the Valkyrie guys go on to run Germany. HE WAS PISSED! I was actually a little disappointed in it. I never got emotionally involved in the characters or story. Seemed like I could have been watching the history channel.
  10. The flu. I was sick for two days last week, and I'm REALLY sick last night into today. There is a lot to do on the farm today and one of the other guys called in too. So I feel like I'm letting my dad and brother down, but there is just no way I can go today. The results of me leaving the house would be horrific.
  11. It's Friday night. I'm home alone. On one channel I'm watching TLC: "What not to wear" The other channel: HDNET: Affliction Banned.
  12. Perhaps you could hash this out a bit more. I can't see why you would jump back on this board after a year and a half and lie, so I have some faith here. I'd still like to hear a little background and details. Everything else you read says Jim has no comment.
  13. Bring on the big unit. ugh I just broke into a cold sweat. I am holding out hope Jim stays. He is my favorite radio guy. I was really wishing he would get the TV gig before BA was named. Soley because I thought he would stay longer in that position. The way he waxes poetic about his youth in Georgia, I think this is a foregone conclusion. If Jim does go I recommend Producer Engineer Kent Summerfeld. Just so we can listen to uke's no stop harassment. Whatdaya say Miss Kitty?
  14. RAD I bet my brother and I made our Mom rent this enough times that she could have bought it at least twice.
  15. FINALLY got mine working. Time Warner sent a tech out and I had a signal problem. Something the splitters, but whatever it works now! I love it, can't wait to be able to watch Hot Stove weeknights now. I'm not saying, I'm just saying Glad you got it going. I am happy with it. I was a little annoyed the day of the Hoffman signing. The first segment on Hot Stove was Milton Bradley, then Red Sox signing Smoltz (complete with Trenni in Boston), then a Brewers mention at the update desk. Then an interview with Pedroia since we were so short on Sox coverage. Wrapped it up with a segment on the nl central. Brewers could be a dark horse, Cubs favorite to win the penant and World Series. I guess those stories are at least as important as Hoffman, but I was hoping for a little more.
  16. Link to press release The partnership, which will be referred to as "Milwaukee Brewers Baseball presented by Potawatomi Bingo Casino," I hope they don't have to fit that on the fronts of the uni's Doesn't mention field haus signage.
  17. I take my girlfriend to louisville championship indoor tractor pull for Valentines Day. She sooo enjoys it. Her next favorite is when I tell her friends and or family about it. Gory books on tape got nothing on that!
  18. My next question would be: Are there other tv's or cable boxes or modems? If there are it could be a problem with a splitter. I would try to eliminate all the splitters and hook up to the straight line. If that fixes it run to the home depot and buy a new splitter and you're on your way.
  19. Try "rebooting" the box. To do this turn the box off with out using the power button. unplug the cord or shut off the powerstrip, just don't push the power button. Powering back up will take a few minutes. It should say "boot" on the box screen and also possible "ocap". It's also gonna show progress on a bar on the tv screen. Happens to mine from time to time.
  20. What about this makes you think he's not a laporta fan? Holly molly, you don't see quotes like that everyday. Happy new year and good luck Matt! Good luck in Cleveland Pal! Woah!
  21. Agreed Making sure the best players get drafted by the teams with best draft position is the key. Teams will control those guys for years to come, thus improving the poor team. I would add that there should also be a penalty for a non-signed drafted player, or big time compensation for the team with which he did not sign. I'm sure this is easier said than done. My rough plan Slotting salaries and bonuses would be first. Next make players declare eligible for the draft. Eligible payers are in the drafting teams control for five years for high schoolers and three for college players. If they are not signed in this time; they must re-enter the draft at the conclusion. The team receives equal value replacement pick. Later rounds would provide for drafting non-declared eligible players. These players can only be out of high school or juco. Contracts and bonuses severely limited. No penalty for not signing, and no compensation for the teams. If you were declared eligible and not drafted you could sign anywhere for the same limited money as non eligible players.
  22. I went and enjoyed it very much. After the exhibit we saw the Ghosts of the abyss imax. That was good as well. The combo of the two took just under 5 hrs. Two bummers first: I had heard they built a grand staircase replica and Milwaukee wasn't big enough so a wall sized picture was in place. Also some artifacts seemed like they were parts of the whole artifact. For example they had a perfume salesman's perfumes and case. Sign said they found like 80 vials and a leather case; Milwaukee had like 6 vials and a piece of the case. second: As soon as you walk in they hit you up for an extra $5 for the audio tour. This is literally ten steps after you show your $25 ticket. We paid for two. It consisted of the signs next to the exhibits read in terrible fake accents. There are tiny numbers next to some of the exhibits, and you punch them into your listening thingy. The numbers on the exhibits aren't in order and are tiny and its dark in there. So you constantly wonder if you missed a number, and if you just punch in order you get all mixed up content. Very poor exacution. Two awesomenesses First: Waiter's jacket that still had owners name written next to the tag on the collar. That piece really hit home with me. Made the whole thing human. It gave me chills. It wasn't the only time, but it stuck with me more than any thing else Second: the imax was very enjoyable. Lots of neat stuff in it. I don't think it was shot on imax, so the format is a little off. The content carries it anyway. I think the exhibit and movie complemented each other well. Number 1 tip I read online. GO AFTER LUNCH. The field trips are all heading home by 1 pm. I "booked" entry at 1:30 and walked past a bazillion running and screaming children as they were exiting. I imagine the mood of the exhibit is quite different with all these little boogers running about. I wouldn't go a second time but am happy I went once. It was very good.
  23. I just ate a sleeve of ritzes while drinking water from a gallon jug. nothing wrong with that
  24. Shouldn't that read "My soon to be on the market house is well suited for this weather, and because of it's small size it is suprisingly affordable to heat. Also it has an easy to shovel driveway, polite neighbors, and plow drivers who care."
