My sense is that the Jets and Packers know exactly what's up and there is some kind of negotiation between all three parties going on behind the scenes.
I see a lot of people "blaming" Rodgers for this "delay" and I am not sure why or what problem he is causing if he is, in fact, taking a few extra hours to figure stuff out.
The Jets had something like 5 losses by 1 TD or less. They have a good defense and good skill players. A good QB could make a huge difference for them.
It's annoying the Bears have a GM that seems to be smart. I still don't think Fields is the answer though.
edit: although even if Fields is not the answer, they have extra picks to get a QB next draft if they want. They are in a pretty good position.
Gonna be rough if Rodgers talks to Jets and says "meh, I'd rather play for GB". If GB doesn't want him it's gonna be weird. I think what I want someone to lay out the real-world ramifications for all these $60 bajillion cap hits. Everyone keeps talking about them like it's the end of times but what does that actually mean? Do they have to cut or restructure half the team?
pitch clock is more. for TV than in person. If you're at the ballpark you are pot committed to staying that whole game for the most part. TV not so much.
I don't know how they calculated the overall rating but they had Washington at 32 (Cards at 31). Equally horrible. If money was equal, I don't know why a FA would choose either team.
NFLPA gave out team grades based on a survey of over 1300 players on things like facilities, how the teams treat families, travel etc. Packers graded out really well (Washington not so much):
