  1. Hardly anyone was skeptical of Hiura, and no one thinks those three are shoo-ins to be anything.
  2. Both Diaz and Harrison have pretty severe home/road splits (they are both way better at home). Odd since the PCL is a hitter's league and New Orleans is probably the least hitter-friendly park.
  3. Make a commitment to get all the way through season 1 of GoT. Takes a bit to get all the families and characters straight.
  4. Yelich last 162 games: 52 HRs 136 RBI 30 SBs, 4 CSs .335 AVG
  5. I really liked Westworld but it can be really confusing at times. Season 1 is definitely worth your time.
  6. We also like to separate politics from entertainment. Please no more politically tinged posts. We do have a political board for those so inclined: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/brewerfanpoliticalscene/
  7. I feel the same about House of Cards. The first season was incredible and they've just gone downhill since then. I didn't even watch last season. I guess you could say the same about True Detective. Season one was an all timer, season two really stink and season three was pretty good.
  8. The Wire is arguably the best TV show ever. It's on most critics top five lists of best all time.
  9. Also because people are easily amused.
  10. So Game of Thrones.... Any thoughts? Use the buttons.
  11. The sheer stupidity (& selfishness) of the parents literally boggled my mind numerous times & just when you think they couldn't possibly be any dumber they go & do something even more idiotic. And totally do not redeem themselves (had Dumb and Dumber on my mind from earlier in the thread)
  12. Abducted in Plain Sight on Netflix is insane.
  13. My fiancee just discovered Cheers on Hulu. That show still holds up after all this time.
  14. Watched Ballad of Buster Scruggs on Netflix last week. I can't say it was the best Coen Bros thing I've ever seen but I really enjoyed it. They just nail that old western dialog. My only qualm was that of the shorts only one or arguably two had a discernible beginning, middle, and end. Most felt like Act I of a three act play. Tom Waits in particular was great. He needs more acting gigs.
  15. It is very possible that Yelich improves on last year's first half numbers while regressing on the second half numbers thereby ending up in roughly the same place overall.
  16. Yup. Last year will probably be the best offensive year of his career. His rate stats from the first half of last year were only slightly better than his career line, but still well above average. It's not a knock of Christian at all, he was simply hitting at a level that can't be maintained by anyone. All the bandwagon fans that jumped on around September are going to be disappointed that he's not prime Barry Bonds for all 162 games every year. There were bandwagon fans in September?
  17. I don't think anyone foresaw this kind of season from Yelich even those that liked the trade.
  18. The way I look at acorns is that it's money you never would have invested anyway. So what's a dollar out of $25 each month if you were never going to put that $24 away in the first place? Also, that dollar stays a dollar no matter how much you have in there. If it was 4% all the time then yeah it's outrageous.
  19. Quiet Place is incredible. Original screenplay had zero dialog.
  20. Everyone should see Free Solo. No, it's not another Star Wars spin off. It's about a guy's attempt to free solo climb (that means no ropes, just you and your hands and feet) El Capitan inside Yosemite National Park. Best seen on the big screen as the cinematography is jaw dropping. Literally had the audience gasping and clapping. I recommend not reading too many reviews as there are spoilers out there but even if you do read a spoiler or two it's still worth seeing in the theater.
  21. If people could stop dredging up old posts to play "gotcha" that would be cool. Thanks. Unless, of course, you want to dredge up one of your own posts that is perfectly fine.
  22. I’m a buy and hold guy. The first stock I bought was DE to give you an idea. OK if you're going to hold then I'm curious why you are worried about the safety of the stock? If you would like dividend income that's another story. Obviously everyone's risk tolerance is different.
  23. What's your investment timeline?
