  1. I think it's also fair to take it a step further and note that in addition to stating his desire, he also clearly indicated at numerous points that he wasn't/didn't devote any of the offseason to football activities to 'clear his mind', etc. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know what his typical/previous offseasons have looked like from a 'football activities' standpoint, but yesterday it certainly looked like he hadn't devoted much time to football vs. other things this offseason.... From all the beat writers accounts Rodgers was locked in and throwing the ball incredibly well all pre-season.
  2. Probably worth emphasizing this point. It really felt like they were going to make it 10-17 and very much a ballgame again. The swing of going from that to 3-24 was absolutely massive. The other INT would have been just a like a punt but the dude returned it like 40 yards. Then you go for it on 4th inside your own 30 (because you have to) and the wheels fall off.
  3. I think you nailed it. If anything probably one of the biggest failures was the offensive line w/o Bakhtiari. Couldn't get the run game going, didn't really pass protect all that great either. Yeah starting two rookies at center and guard is a risky proposition. They'll get better but getting Bakhtiari back will be an exponential improvement. Defense is more of a concern to me but it's one game. Who knows? Maybe if Rodgers doesn't throw that INT in the red zone it's a different ball game.
  4. He is on a massive heater. It's at the point where I'm surprised he doesn't get an extra-base hit.
  5. The Brewers were frustrating for a couple two tree weeks there in May, but ever since the Adames trade they've been pure entertainment. Love that San Francisco is having the season everyone was so sure San Diego was going to have after they "won" the offseason. Yeah Milwaukee was below .500 45 games into the season.
  6. Do the subtitle of this song, please.
  7. I think there are a lot of cheap receivers out there this week. Callaway, Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore....some decent low cost high ceiling guys if you do the big tournaments.
  8. I agree H2H is far from perfect but I've played both formats and when it's a straight points league it's just not as fun. At least assuming you're in a league with friends that you can have fun trash talking with throughout the season. Main point is there are flaws both ways. Yeah it's better than a season-long points thing. Just sucks that one lucky or unlucky week can screw up an otherwise perfect season.
  9. Kamara might catch 15 balls on Sunday.
  10. It's the team he rooted for growing up so until they get a permanent hire I'll be concerned.
  11. I was told by someone once upon a time that there is actually a "weather" line in WI that if you cross it going north the trees change pretty quickly from mostly deciduous (leaves fall off) to more evergreen (pine). And I think it's roughly Hwy 29.
  12. Unlocking this thread. Let's avoid games of gotcha going forward. Please keep it civil. Thanks!
  13. Anything north of West Bend
  14. Someone asked Chryst about the lack of pre-snap motion against PSU:
  15. Someone posted something similar from the D-backs game. They had an announced attendance of 6,354.
  16. I think the Fangraphs "rankings" are a bit misleading. You could be 80 or 100 and be the same prospect in terms of FV (future value) which appears to be how they rank guys. Ashby has an FV of 50 which means "#4 starters. Approx 4.00 FIP, at times worse but then with lots of innings 1.8 to 2.5 WAR"
  17. Agreed. I was going to post something similar.
  18. In honor of his induction into the Hall of Fame, I give you one of the more bizarre baseball brawls I've ever seen:
  19. You don't need to actually hand it off to make a jet sweep (or any motion) work in your favor. The motion alone does a lot. And for the record, I don't believe the lack of pre snap motion and play action is the differentiator between UW and Ohio State.
  20. I think it's a mix of somewhat spotty past consistency along with a lack of eye-popping stuff. Houser typically sits in the mid 90s (93-95) with his fastball, although he has dialed it up to 97 as a reliever in the past. He doesn't have the potentially triple-digit arm that Burnes or Woodruff bring, though. Lauer typically sits in the low 90s, although he can ramp it up to 95 on occasion. Solid, especially for a lefty starter, but not extraordinary. Crazy how that same speed would have been top of the rotation stuff 10 years ago.
