  1. Really? Man, my memory is shot. I swear I cut back on booze about 6 weeks into the pandemic Of course, 6 weeks into the pandemic feels like last June so maybe I shouldn't feel so bad.
  2. There was an article on Fangraphs about Burnes this morning. I don't know if you have to pay to see it. I'm a member so I was able to read. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/cutter-in-hand-corbin-burnes-is-the-hottest-pitcher-on-the-planet/
  3. Two weeks until the draft. Hopefully some different discussion of a more upbeat nature coming. Draft really snuck up on me. Granted the last one was in June so time between drafts was compressed but still... Can't wait. Pack with 10 picks.
  4. UW in general has been accused of flopping for many years. Re: Davison - Next year's team is gonna be so young it will be nice to have a guy with a ton of in-game experience out there.
  5. I don't see the value in any of the coins themselves except Bitcoin It can be used as a store of value similar to gold since there a limited number they can create. Blockchain on the other hand has real world utility. Smart contracts are game changers.
  6. DFA. Seriously, if he can't even pitch mop-up innings without getting in trouble or requiring somebody to warm up behind him. What's the point? At the end of the day he pitched 2 innings, gave up a hit, and hit a guy. No one scored.
  7. FWIW, Ethereum 2.0 is supposed to cut energy consumption of its Blockchain by 99%
  8. Yeah I took a look this morning and they were talking $250 open. I passed.
  9. First pitcher since 1906 to have 30 Ks and no walks in first 3 starts. And... Corbin Burnes is the first pitcher in the last 120 seasons of MLB to have a streak of 3 straight games with 6+ IP and 2 or fewer baserunners allowed.
  10. Looks like they've had a few guys do it. I don't have a subscription to Stathead to see the results though.
  11. I did too. I have no read on anything today, honestly. I've gotten used to having no idea on low line drives or sharp groundballs, but I harbored the illusion that anything hit above the shift was still decipherable. Not today, anyway. Yep. The modern shift sure has ruined the momentary reaction of "Oh, nice hit up the middle." "Oh, nevermind, routine grounder." Yeah I wish the TV broadcasts would do a better job of showing you the positioning for each hitter.
  12. If Contreras didn't like getting plunked before, he's really not going to like the next one.
  13. So we are forgetting the 25 yr old guy in the j&j trial that had a stroke/thrombosis that actually led to the trial itself pausing for a period of time last summer? Is pausing during the trial phase that out of the ordinary for this sort of thing? And was it revealed if the guy received the vaccine or was in the placebo group? I don't remember if that was ever made public.
  14. Crazy that the Brewers have two TOR pitchers that are homegrown on the same squad (Peralta more or less is but we didn't sign/draft him originally). We've literally had ONE of those in the last 20 years and he was on a gawdawful team.
  15. A balmy 33 degrees for the first pitch of the Sox Twins game. Thank goodness for the AmFam roof.
  16. This made me instantly think of a Randy Wolf pitch. Looked up the video and the stadium gun gave it 49mph. That was in 2012. If you are old, you might remember Dave LaRoache throwing a literal lob pitch to Gorman Thomas....actually threw several of them. I wish they had a speed gun back then. I bet these didn't break 40
