  1. Cubs go off the grid....field is wide open for Brewers.
  2. Guess the Mets took Baty.
  3. Guess the Mets are taking Baty.
  4. Haudricourt doesn't write headlines.
  5. Question: how many options do you get and when does the clock on those start? So Shaw has "an option" left correct? Or is it two? Did Hiura use an option after this latest move? So how many does he have? I usually only start caring about options when a guy is a few years into his career.
  6. Because he has an 850 OPS.
  7. I think this decision was made primarily with roster flexibility in mind.
  8. No kidding. He had to have known the fanbase was going to flip out.
  9. We should all want Shaw to do great. One, it means the team is doing better and two, it helps his trade value. He's an 800+OPS guy the last two years. Sucks that they lose Hiura's bat but he will be up shortly.
  10. Isn't that what a projection is though?

The Box and 1 defense was great to see. Reminded me of high school
  12. At least use accurate quotes: "I might shed a little weight" But to put an end to this, you have vision akin to a bird of prey and can tell when a guy is a mere five pounds above his optimal weight. There, you have been validated on an anonymous sports message board. Congrats.
  13. I'm pretty confident they'll keep him through next week's interleague games. Beyond that it will take some roster shuffling but I doubt they send his bat back down.
  14. It sure appears as though you're still presuming a world where the Brewers picked who turned out to be their 12 best performers out of Spring Training and "hey look how good the team ERA would be if they had". What team in the majors wouldn't benefit greatly from that hindsight? The stats you're posting also meet the very definition of cherry picking so your condescension toward the people using the term is offensive. Just a warning...you two had a bunch of posts deleted yesterday after a thread went off the rails. If that happens again you are looking at a temp ban.
  15. Where did this Bryan Reynolds dude come from? He's been on fire the last month or so. Was he on any top 100 lists? I'm sure he was a Pirate top ten prospect.
  16. Confirmed by Brewers Twitter feed:
  17. Chacin to the IL. Does this mean Nelson makes his first start on Thursday?
  18. In regards to Hiura, I think everyone can pat themselves on the back. He started out slow and K'd quite a bit so people preaching patience were right. Now he's raking and the people who thought he'd hit were right. We're all winners. Congrats everyone. Take a bow and drink a beer!
