  1. We also like to separate politics from entertainment. Please no more politically tinged posts. We do have a political board for those so inclined: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/brewerfanpoliticalscene/
  2. The great thing is, Toronto was really only successful when they pushed the pace yesterday. Halfcourt game they didn't do much on offense. So basically the one thing they can do well they can't do the whole game.
  3. I think the Raps were able to get past Philly because Philly also had no bench. They're going to have to play some of their bench guys. When you see the BUcks outboarded the Raps 18-6 in the 4th quarter, that's a pretty telling stat. Yup. Bucks got a lot of key offensive boards in that 4th quarter.
  4. Bucks simply wore them out. Toronto has no bench. Bucks dominated every 4th quarter stat.
  5. I guess I should clarify....if Hiura mashes then Shaw's days as an everyday starter might numbered if the position player roster stays the way it is. Obviously, if there's a move then that could open a spot for him.
  6. There have been two posts about Hiura since the end of the game. Also, there is nothing wrong with being guarded. Nothing wrong with getting excited either. We are fans after all. Agree. Feel free to be excited and support Keston. But stop trying to call out people who are being cautious.
  7. I was just thinking about this but in terms of what happens if Shaw starts raking in his minor league rehab stint. He could easily fill in at 1st and steal ABs from Thames, play 2B against the occasional righty, and give Moose a day off here or there. Plus someone is bound to get injured at some point. But if Hiura is hitting then I think Shaw's days as an everyday starter are probably over.

  9. ? I logged into the MiLB forum first and checked the link report. For a few weeks now every time Hiura didn't start I'd say "put on your tinfoil hats" because I felt a number of people were on call up watch. If he's not playing in SA maybe he's getting called up. That was posted nearly every time. I logged into the MLB forum and saw the call up as the first link. Subsequently freaked out. Thought maybe it was a joke. Saw it wasn't, and freaked out more. And 92, watch it. Just because trading a valuable platoon bat, that we currently need, is a dumb idea doesn't give you the right to start stuff like you are trying above. You don't think Thames is valuable and he's not, but that also won't fetch anything in return. Not only is trading Thames a dumb idea but you also expect back unreasonable return. Compounding the dumb idea. Having a dumb opinion gets blow back and doesn't give you licence to drag flames throughout the whole board. Ah got it. I thought you logged in tonight and saw someone else had posted that.
  10. but I won't be surprised if he ends up more like 2005 Corey Hart. Who, by the way, received a standing ovation after fouling out in his first AB
  11. Agreed. Also nothing wrong with getting excited. The only downside is that you might be a bit disappointed and I think we can all handle that well enough. Thanks for the follow-up post.
  12. Used to love watching him crack up Harvey Korman.
  13. +1 It's almost as if they're rooting for him to start slow. I only take one exception to your post. Hiura is going to be their 2nd best bat by June. This June. Said it before the season started and putting it on record again here. Come on, you guys. No one is rooting against him and no one says he sucks. Stop with the hyperbole. Some people are choosing to see what he does before getting too excited and that's ok.
  14. In regards to his K rate... Keston had 24 K's his first 15 games (58 ABs, 1 BB). He's had 16 since then (71ABs, 14BBs). I don't have time to look but I feel like he took a few weeks to get settled at A+ too so expecting him to light the world on fire might be a bit too enthusiastic but given enough ABs he should be more than fine.
  15. Bucks were top 10 in the league at preventing corner three attempts. Toronto was fourth worst. Sterling Brown step on up!
  16. It's pretty easy to cast aspersions without knowing the whole story. For all we know, Ben used his bonus as a down payment on a house in 2007 and then the market tanked in 2008. I'm not defending embezzlement by any means but the fact that he received some kind of lump sum in 1999 is not necessarily a reason to castigate the guy for living paycheck to paycheck in 2018. Yeah he could be a doofus but there could be a slew of other reasons he's broke.
  17. I really doubt he got a 100K bonus. last year there were only 8 guys in round 10 that got over 100K. I realize the salary structures are different but I'd be willing to be he didn't get even 30K.
  18. Toronto played 7 guys the other day. Given the shorter turnaround on these games I think the Bucks can really wear them down. I expect close games and then Bucks pulling away late in most cases.

  20. Gah. Well made him throw a lot of pitches at least.
  21. Has homered in three straight games. Really seems to come in bunches for him.
  22. I mean it's like a difference of -3 or something? I think a lot of that has to do with just how damn good the Bucks bench has been. Like you said, not enough data points.
