  1. I thought Miller Park was pretty neutral in terms of park factor? Used to be a big homer dome but not as much recently. At least that's what I thought.
  2. I didn't realize just how much of a power suck BC has been. Went back a few years and only one guy has had a SLG over .500 (Khris Davis) but I'm not sure what his home/road splits were. Ryan Braun could only manage .438 SLG playing for BC...again, not sure what splits were.
  3. Boom Nice call. Thanks. Blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
  4. I have a sneaking suspicion that Ray is going to bust out shortly. He's got like three doubles in his last four games.
  5. 1 Arcia 2 Hader 3 Brinson 4 L. Ortiz 5 I. Diaz 6 Bickford 7 C. Ray 8 T. Clark 9 Phillips 10 M. Diplan 11 Lara 12 Woodruff 13 Lopez 14 Ponce 15 Erceg 16 Harrison 17 Nottingham 18 Peralta 19 D. Williams 20 Perrin 21 M. Diaz 22 T. Taylor 23 C. Burnes 24 Orimoloye 25 Medeiros
  6. he probably does have a fair grasp of English, but can answer questions more thoughtfully if posed to him in his native language by an interpreter. The game has evolved to the point where English is starting to become the less common language used around clubhouses, and kids whose 1st language is English need to learn Spanish on the fly, too. Many MLB players who have been stateside for years continue using interpreters when dealing with the media. Yeah most of the guys get by with English but for interviews they use interpreters. They don't feel comfortable talking in English and maybe getting their words mixed up...granted interpreters do that for them on occasion.
  7. The one difference between Milwaukee and Pittsburgh is that they have pitching in their system. Milwaukee did not. Hence the moves for Sabathia and Greinke.
  8. Total guess but I'll say a high ceiling young guy. A ball or lower. Edit: I guess they're all young. Young for his level.
  9. Pirates are a good model. They are "down" a little this year but have tons of talent in the minors. Trading Melancon was a great move. That is how you sustain success in a small market.
  10. Brinson may be my new favorite prospect.
  11. I love these exercises for no other reason than it means you've got a great farm system. We haven't done one of these since Angel Salome was in AA.
  12. I realize people are reticent to make Maddux comparisons but if you look at Maddux's age 23 season it's very comparable to what Zach is doing right now.
  13. Yeah I mean the difference between 1 and 5 is probably minimal but the difference between 1 and 10 - 15 is pretty big deal. I'd be curious how the various rankings correspond to future success? I know BA used to do a five year prediction model. Wonder how accurate they are?
  14. I wonder if the Brewers are scouting the rookie leagues for a "get him before he breaks out" guy like one of the pitchers in the Lind deal. I'd be totally ok with that.
  15. As good as Brewers system is now it will be better next year after the off season trades and a few guys get healthy (Kirby, Williams, Harrison, Clark etc. assuming they return to form). Granted losing Arcia's prospect status will hurt quite a bit.
  16. Updated stats. Not shown is that Zach has among the lowest exit velocities on batted balls in the majors (i.e. weak contact). Might explain his low BABIP. http://i.imgur.com/DgmVwov.png
  17. I'm fine with Suter getting a shot if for no other reason than stopping Clancy from flooding the minor league forum with posts about him. It certainly won't hurt the big club to give him an opportunity. In truth I'm pretty much up for giving just about anyone the organization deems worthy some playing time to see what they have, but it probably won't go over so well on the MLB forum. Yes, the best reason to promote him is to remove his prospect status
  18. Perrin with another really nice outing. Having a great season.
  19. You're the second person to post this and I literally have no idea what you're talking about.
  20. Rusty Greer Yes, always Rusty Greer
  21. Gallo is centerpiece per PAssan
