  1. Perrin's having a really nice season. Kind of under the radar.
  2. Ah, you are correct. I misread that sentence. My mistake.
  3. Handball coach said Lebron would be best handball player in the world inside of 6 months. I'd take the under on that. I mean there's an NFL guy on the Olympic rugby team....I bet there are a ton of dudes that play in the D league that would be incredible at team handball.
  4. I don't think there's any way Erceg is at Appleton unless he totally caves in the next month. I'm not sure why you would think Gideon would pass Erceg who had better numbers at Helena and is like 7 months younger than Gideon.
  5. I would say if you have the worst manager in the league and replaced him with the best manager you'd get an extra five wins tops.
  6. I cringe every time I see comments like this one. It has been said hundreds of times on this site, probably by hundreds of different people, but I completely disagree with it. I often wonder if those making this statement have ever coached the sport on a level past t-ball. Even a little league coach/manager makes several decisions per game that 100% effect the outcome of a game. High school, same thing. Yes, the players play the game, but the manager makes a lot of decisions, often in the heat of the moment, just like a football coach, that dramatically effect the outcome, which in turn has a profound effect on wins and losses. If Joe Maddon was managing the Brewers, what would their record be?
  7. What does that mean? I'm not alone! This came out an hour later. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/which-countries-medal-in-the-sports-that-people-care-about/ 'Merica. Trampoline is an Olympic event. Trampoline.
  8. Bickford is a K machine.
  9. Guy like that should be playing rugby. He'd be a star.
  10. stosh wawrzasek!
  11. Anyone seen Yamamoto pitch? He has good secondary numbers (K/IP and K/BB).
  12. Corey Ray with his 2nd home run of the year.
  13. Woo Hoo! Monte Harrison sighting.
  14. So?
  15. He's been given no timetable to advance within the Brewers' farm system, but two of his former coaches in Chicago, Kevin Coe and Lou Collier, expect Ray to reach the majors Sweet Lou Collier!
  16. Is it bad that I have no recollection of Jose Pena?
  17. Most scouting reports I've read say he has a frame to add some bulk and that 15 - 20 homers a season would not be surprising.
  18. Stat centric (and geared for fantasy nerds) article about Broxton: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/the-summer-olympics-are-boring-keon-broxton-is-not/
  19. I think Guerra's one of those guys that didn't really build up a ton of trade value simply for the reasons people here wanted him traded (31, out of nowhere, etc. etc.). I'm guessing a few teams kicked the tires but never really offered anything. Stearns probably figured if he could get a full season out of Guerra that his value would be better in the offseason. All speculation on my part of course.
  20. I'll be curious to see if Coulter can keep it up. His two hits today were grounders. I don't know if he's making hard contact or not. Edit: Quick look at game logs and it appears Coulter has two hits via line drive since he moved to Biloxi. Maybe the grounders for hits will give him confidence but right now it doesn't look like he's exactly crushing the ball.
  21. That is not what anybody is saying. What if, with regular playing time, Broxton turns into a really good player? That helps Counsell's career and the Brewers win more. "You can try to win while not particularly caring if you do win" Thats what I responded to. Pure and simple That simply means you play to win and if you don't win it's not a bad result. I don't see anyone suggesting the Brewers not try hard.
  22. Yeah no kidding. I came to this site the year Prince was drafted.
  23. I'd be curious to know what the exit velocity of balls in play is for Suter? Maybe he just generates super weak contact....a lot.
  24. Isan Diaz is hitting .330 since the beginning of June.
