  1. I don't know if poor people in Cuba are less free than poor people in any other Latin American country.
  2. Looking forward to Erin Hills next year. I heard one guy say he thinks the winner might be 5 or 6 over par.
  3. Peralta continues to shine for the T-Rats. Id be curious to know what kind of stuff he has from someone that's seen him in person.
  4. I have a feeling any Braun trade would be some kind of three team deal.
  5. I don't have a huge problem with him as coach. I do, however, have a huge problem with him being involved in the draft and player acquisitions.
  6. So he swapped out Gomez for Lucroy.
  7. I think we are seeing the versatility trait Stearns seeks coming to bear. Guys that can play multiple positions don't have to be traded to make room. I have a feeling Gennett will ultimately be the odd man out because he can only play 2nd.
  8. Are we planning on updating this at midseason?
  9. re: PTBNL Please be advised that the Commissioner’s Office and the Players Association have agreed to amend the Major League Rules in advance of this year’s Rule 4 Draft with respect to players-to-be-named-later (“PTBNLs”) under Rule 12(e)(2), and the trading of draft picks under Rule 3(b)(6). …commencing with players eligible for the 2015 Rule 4 Draft, (a) players selected in the Draft may be traded beginning on the day following the conclusion of the World Series, and (b) drafted players cannot be PTBNLs unless they otherwise could be traded pursuant to Rule 3(b)(6), as amended, at the time of the trade.
  10. How about Jason Groome? I could be off base but I don't think you can trade a draft pick for a full year. At least, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of time frame where they can't be traded. EDIT: They changed the rule last year. Prospects can be traded the day after the world series in the year in which they were drafted. So Brewers could trade for Groome but not until the off season. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/mlb-fixes-the-trea-turner-problem-for-everyone-else/
  11. Oh rest assured I watched the entire video
  12. In case you haven't seen one of his pickoff moves yet... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxxUKZ4nCm8
  13. Maybe you missed this article: http://www.d1baseball.com/analysis/adversity-guides-ercegs-new-path/
  14. Interesting theory. We will see what DS does at the deadline this year.
  15. That's the point. Between Phillips and Ray's questionable CF tool, we drafted a corner OF without plus power. As we did last year in Clark. Both Clark and Ray can apparently hit so that's a good thing but the power in the farm system is virtually non existent. I just glanced the stats but I don't think we have a single player on the farm with 10 home runs. That is a bit alarming. Currently there are 4 players in the Southern League and zero in the Midwest League that have 10 home runs or more.
  16. I prefer position players to pitchers early in round 1. Too much risk in a flameout - especially high school arms. I feel like position players are more of a sure bet.
  17. That's just it though. Pitchers can hide behind the ole "I was just throwing inside" line or "It got away from me." IMO, there's no reason to ever drill a guy. Work inside, back him off if you want but intentionally nailing a guy is just plain stupid.
  18. That Diplan/Peralta piggyback is a fun one to watch.
  19. I think one of the things Melvin stopped doing as the Brewers got better was acquiring nuggets. He was hell bent on getting a guy like Kevin Mench instead of a young guy that could develop.
  20. The reality is the Brewers can't buy Lester, Lackey, Heywood, and Zobrist. Cubs did and their rebuild still took several years.
  21. I wish Walsh had hit even a little bit because his OBP skills are incredible. Really would like to hang on to his rights if possible. This seems like the kind of guy the Cardinals bring up at age 28 and he goes for like .850 OPS. (yes, I know he was originally a Cardinals farmhand).
  22. Seems like a few of the studs are starting to heat up. Can't wait for the baby Brewers to start up in a few weeks.
