  1. At some point the bottom of the order has to start hitting.....right? I'll say it's in June. 20 - 7 Yeah, that's right. 20 wins. Suck it.
  2. Doug used to get nuggets for his vets. Carlos Villanueva was the return for Wayne Franklin. That's the thing that always bugged me about his trades. He should be getting some kind of prospect back in each transaction. Milwaukee can't win without a decent farm system.
  3. Seems odd that one bad game would drop him off a team's prospect list. Don't they have access to video of other games?
  4. I wouldn't have traded Max Scherzer. Still scratching my head over that one.
  5. Chicago beat Detroit twice tonight.
  6. bump Gomez still doesn't walk all that much but he seems to be crushing mistakes which he didn't used to do.
  7. I bet there are 20 other teams with a similar thread. At any one point in time there are only a handful of teams that can churn out pitchers. St. Louis is only a recent phenomenon. They traditionally relied on free agents to bolster their starting staff. San Fran had a run of pitchers but that seems to have waned. Tampa Bay has been successful drafting pitchers and more importantly knowing when to get rid of them. Cincinnati has been decent but that's fairly recent too. Atlanta had great success in the 90's but most of those guys were acquired via trade. Very few teams can consistently draft and develop pitching over the long haul.
  8. The Brewers did win the division two years ago with almost an entirely home grown offense. Some of these posts make me feel like I took a time machine back to 2001.
  9. He was. The law (if that is the law) that you can get an OWI in the back seat of your car simply encourages more drunk driving. Yes, the first step is to not get drunk in the first place but once that line has passed you shouldn't punish people for trying to sleep it off. And I could have swore the vehicle did not have to be motorized. I would think (hope) you could get an OWI/DUI on a bike.
  10. First episode was solid....with the exception of Seth Rogen. He needs to disappear quickly from our collective consciousness or at least go back to just playing the character he played on 40 Year Old Virgin.
  11. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_g2EmO4TGq9I/TSSqc5xHMfI/AAAAAAAAAKE/whB1FeRlzKo/s1600/queve.jpg
  12. Wow, what a choke job by Toronto. Bruins score 3 in the third to tie it and then win in OT. Sorta sick of the Bruins was looking for some new blood. Poor Leafs fans.
  13. Yeah, sorry I didn't word that so well. I was talking about Toronto.
  14. Anyone still following the playoffs? Toronto tied up the series with Boston. Headed to Beantown for game 7. I'll be rooting for them. That town would go absolutely zonkers if they ever won a Cup.
  15. So Lucroy's had one bad year - his rookie year. Not enough data to say anything about him one way or the other.
  16. I was knocking back a couple of brews with my Brewer savant friend tonight, and this discussion came up. He quickly pointed out that I was wrong, and that the Brewers have in fact drafted one twenty game winner. In the realm of Brewer trivia, this would be a great & difficult question... any guesses for bragging rights? Did he win 20 games for the Brewers or someone else?
  17. I don't know about having a guy on the hot sheet with one good game all season. I realize it's just a measure of where guys are recently but given his earlier struggles (including last year) you'd think BA would hold off on calling a guy "hot" until he had repeated the performance a few times.
  18. Speaking of going to college for a long time, is that moron at Whitewater still in school? Wasn't he going on 11 years at one point?
  19. I like that when I click on that it says "An error occurred. Please try again later."
  20. How many teams are good at developing pitchers? Two? Three? I think it's a crap shoot.
  21. I like Joe Maddon.
  22. I actually thought Macha managed the 'pen really well.
  23. Bradley with a very solid outing so far for BC. His numbers (albeit a small sample) are better across the board this year. Hopefully that continues.
  24. His wife is from Wauwatosa.
