  1. I think a better question is: would the Brewers have won the division and made it to the NLCS without Fielder?
  2. I think Braun will go on a tear after this...just like he did last season.
  3. I HATE that because I'm keeping an open mind and don't have enough information to make an informed decision one way or another some people think I'm a homer or living in denial. I think Braun juiced but I also believe in due process. This goes way beyond due process in my opinion. Braun beat the system. Take your lumps and go home, MLB.
  4. Of course, I believe he's also agreed to turn over documents which can be spun however MLB wants to spin them.
  5. The thing is, he already kind of did, didn't he? Yeah, but I think anything he's said to date should be taken with a grain of salt since he's lied to everyone. Although I don't see why he'd lie about Braun's affiliation with him especially since Braun was the only player he publicly named. In which case I'm pretty confident he'll tell the same story to MLB.
  6. The sad thing is they actually might be a 7 or 8 seed next season if they had never traded their draft picks. Jennings, Sanders, Harris, Henson, Lamb, Moute, Ilyasova is a decent core. Throw in the fact that they could/would have taken Klay Thompson instead of trading down for Jackson and you might be talking about a 4 or 5 seed. All speculation of course but I think they would be at LEAST as good as the team this season and have a much brighter future.
  7. I'm gonna laugh really hard if Bosch corroborates Braun's story. That will be hilarious.
  8. Maybe Braun will be forced to tell the secret story about why he got busted in the first place.
  9. Nats can bring up Rendon to play 2nd.
  10. Wasn't Olt out of commission for a while because of an eye problem? Or am I thinking of someone else?
  11. You may want to touch base with JP Breen on Twitter. He has a healthy following, is a Brewer fan, and is a Fangraphs contributor.
  12. You'd be surprised how many fans go to the games just to see these young prospects who are the future of the team. I bet at least 50.
  13. I can't fight this feelin' anymore. I must follow Ariel Speedwagon tonight.
  14. Hit the ball well in the minors. Doesn't walk much. Not sure about his defense. Good buy low guy if they end up trading Ramirez.
  15. Woof. Subtract about 40 degrees from those forecasted highs, & you have your local weather It was like 50 here in Chicago yesterday. I will take that 100 times out of 100 over the blast furnace in Arizona. Of course, when it's 36 and freezing rain I might sing a different tune.
  16. I wouldn't call Lucroy untouchable but for those suggesting he be traded did you see who the Brewers trotted out there for 20 years prior to his arrival? Catchers are extremely hard to come by.
  17. I had no idea what the lyric to that song actually was until you posted it in the thread title. I thought it was some weird union slogan or something. I remember watching the episode where there's a guy going around sexually assaulting old women and Edith gets attacked. As a tot, I distinctly remember thinking "Why would a young guy like that find an old woman like Edith attractive?" Definitely stuck with me and to this day I consider it one of the more bizarre episodes in sit com history. She was a modern day Gracie Burns. RIP.
  18. I also think he was out of options so the Brewers had to trade him. They couldn't afford to keep a guy with a 6+ ERA on the roster.
  19. Jorge De La Rosa waves hello He wasn't a product of the farm system.
  20. I think it's convenient to say that the Brewers have screwed up a bunch of arms. Wouldn't these guys go on to find success elsewhere if that was the case? Not to mention the fact that the Brewers have developed plenty of bullpen guys through the farm system. Their methods haven't seemed to hurt those players.
  21. The mediocrity would have continued no matter who they hired. At least Drew sucks. Maybe he'll coach them out of the 8 seed.
  22. Yes People know the lineup is usually pretty solid. Yes. Although I'm sure brokers buy plenty of them.
  23. Everyone in the lineup after cleanup.
