I feel for the family. From what I recall, the dad really wanted her to clean up. And she didn't seem all that interested in doing so. maybe I'm wrong about that though.
It's kind of a lot of pressure for a rookie to be thrown into a pennant race. Not to mention he'd be replacing/platooning with a veteran who has been around a few years. Not sure how much this all matters but it's worth considering.
Orlando Arcia (El Pirata) continues to impress. I love finding guys in the DSL or AZ league and follow them throughout their careers (i.e. The Hurricane). Great stat line so far for a 16 year old (or an 18 or 19 year old for that matter): .319/.411/.511
Given the neighborhood, I prefer parking in a lot with an attendant rather than on the street (unless you can find a spot on Wisconsin Ave). Anyone ever been in one of the side stages/venues at The Rave? I saw a show there in what can best be described as a church basement.
I've recently discovered Pisco. It's in the brandy family and is primarily consumed in Peru and Chile. I guess it's a huge battle between the two countries as to who has better Pisco and who made it first. The drink most commonly associated with it is the Pisco Sour.....and it's flippin' delicious. http://southamericanfood....om/od/drinks/a/pisco.htm
Oklahoma City and Portland did it in the last few years. OKC already had one of the best players in the league when they did it. Face it: in the NBA you either have to be extremely lucky with the lottery/draft or be a big market team. There's really no in between. How many small market teams have success in the NBA year in and year out? Unless something drastically changes with the CBA do you think OKC will be able to keep all their stars? No chance in Cudahy.
It's fairly obvious that RR went to the Ned Yost School of Bullpen Mis-Management. "Gee it's the 8th inning, it's a close game, I better use my 8th inning guy regardless of the match-ups." Could be my biggest managerial pet peeve.
his BABIP is too high so he's unlucky! No, he's pitched like garbage and has been getting hit hard Actually, that would be his LD% not his BABIP. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
He's fine in the 8th but he doesn't have to pitch every 8th inning. Nor does he have to only pitch in the 8th inning. He can pitch in the 7th and someone else can pitch the 8th.
I do not understand his infatuation with Loe in the 8th. It's like he doesn't trust any other righty to pitch in that inning. Is Hawkins sleeping with RR's wife or something?
For some reason, Gindl reminds me of the chicken hawk from the old Foghorn Leghorn cartoons. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk110/schryver1960/Henery-Hawk-the-Apostle.jpg
I don't think anyone is being negative. I'm excited he's doing so well. I'm just being cautious with my enthusiasm. And I'm all for having him start at 3rd next season. I'm glad he's in AAA in case something happens to Weeks or McGehee. And I'm also not saying I don't want Green up to replace McGehee at any point this year. But IMHO it's too soon. Wait until after the all star break and do it then if it's still a huge problem.
