  1. MLB Gamecast said Rogers hit 98.
  2. I assume you're referring to your post about people in Maine knowing nothing about baseball as a poor example of how to use a message board? Or was your post an example of the silliness we attract here now? I'm 50/50 on which it could be.
  3. I love how Sullivan calls it "tacky". Stupid homer.
  4. Not to go off on a tangent, but his name is part of the public record now. We should be able to discuss it.
  5. I read he was yelling some homophobic slurs. He should have just ripped into him for his stupid eyebrows...although Yadier is probably proud of his lack of eye hair.
  6. Did we ever get word about why he was temporarily benched by Isom? I know it was disciplinary but wasn't sure if the reason was ever made public.
  7. I think Stats, Inc. uses three stringers at each game to prevent bias. So between three guys I would think you'd get a pretty accurate reading on grounder vs line drive or sharp grounder vs. dribbler.
  8. I think there was some place up in Cave Creek too. I want to say that Max McGee's daughter owned it maybe? Although that was a Packer bar they might show UW games too.
  9. I imagine whoever they stick at 1st base next year is going to improve that number quite a bit. Both in terms of fielding the position and receiving throws from the other infielders. It's also another reason to stick Hart at 1st, IMO, where his UZR would probably be pretty good and his negative UZR in right could be replaced by someone like Gamel who would probably do no worse and may do better.
  10. I look at it the opposite way - not how many extra wins he will give you, but how many wins would it have cost the team to keep going with the current players they had. Isn't this the same as giving you wins? But taking your side of the equation, how many wins do you really think it would have cost the team to keep going with the players they had?
  11. Picciolo was on the 82 Brewers World Series team.
  12. Although I think it was more of Packer bar back in the day. We just made it into our personal Badger bar.
  13. There used to be one in Tempe called The Thirsty Beaver. Not sure if that's still there or not.
  14. I believe the Space Coast Radio guy said Merklinger throws high 80's low 90's.
  15. Wow, Merklinger skips AA? Should we read anything into that or is it just because Nashville's pen has been raided by the big league club?
  16. Forget overseas, we need to start scouting underseas: http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRxvPFlyVoRHke7HGduTFkiOMK5VJLG3Mv9CAyHCAUY_AYemiA&t=1&usg=__WHAyLQFvWG1C5l2fUZmEBFGEHhk=
  17. I'll second Voodoo lounge. Definitely skews a little older. There's an inside and an outside and as Chuckie said the view is amazing.
  18. On paper, the Helena staff is doing really well. But considering they're mostly college age I need to temper my excitement. Guys like Ross, Garman, Marzec, Nelson, etc. have incredible K/BB and K/9 ratios. I'll be interested to see how they as they move up. I guess Hiram Burgos could be as good a case study as you'll find since he's also college age and dominated that league. He's done OK at Wisconsin since coming back up.
  19. My brother was at the Alpine Valley show. It was SRV, Clapton, and Robert Cray I believe. They all came onstage at the end and played together.
  20. I would not want to be in that neighborhood at 2:30am. I
  21. I wonder if Rob Dibble and John Kruk still think he needs to suck it up and go pitch?
  22. Not sure what the Nats could have done differently. Even if they had shut him down after the first issue I bet this would have popped up next spring. Some guys just get hurt. I wonder what Dr. Marshall thinks about the inverted W theory?
  23. I was just about to ask the same thing. I looked up his draft report and found this: Merklinger's fastball is well below-average.So he may be one of those soft tossing curve ball specialists. http://www.minorleaguebas.../index.jsp?mc=merklinger
  24. Since I live in Chicago and hate the Cubs I would probably pick the White Sox just because they hate it when the Sox do anything good.
  25. I met Tom Trebelhorn once. Really nice guy....shorter than I was even when I was in 8th grade.
