I don't think that's limited to sports fans. We as humans have a quota on complaints. Its wired into our DNA. 150 years ago we complained about not getting enough to eat. Now that that's taken care of we complain when all our baseball games are not in HD. -
I would throw Saving Private Ryan and The Longest Day into the war movie category. The former for being the first movie to truly depict what D Day was like and the second for some really ground breaking cinematography.

If the money is right, I could see him doing it. I think it'd be crazy for an NL team to sign him to a giant contract though.

I saw video of the guy reuniting with his mom. It was a little disturbing because he kept calling her "mommy" but it was pretty touching. To think the guy was panhandling on Sunday and did VO for a national commercial on Friday is unreal. I hope the guy can keep it together though all of this.

This does not make the Cubs contenders next year unless the stars align completely for them. They are old all over the place. I don't know why they are trying to add now when the team will be lucky (very lucky) to sniff .500 next year even with Garza. Unless they can sign Garza to an extension this is a silly move that depletes depth for their eventual rebuilding.

I don't know why but I'm kind of obsessed with this story. The guy has indeed been hired by the Cavs and apparently NFL films is interested too. The original YouTube clip is at almost 9 million views since it was posted on Monday. Wow, that's awesome, Dave. I remember you mentioning this a few years ago. Nice to see that you followed through. As for leasing cars, the one thing it gets you is the ability to drive a better car than you normally would. I'm considering it because I need a bigger car (i.e. SUV) for my business but can't afford to buy one. Probably won't do it but I can see why someone would in certain circumstances. Yes, it's not a good investment but for me it was a cost of doing business.

All great suggestions but not quite what I need. I think it needs more of a "cheesy" quality to it. Magic Man (which is about Charles Manson by the way) is a great tune but too good. I'm looking for more like an Eric Johnson or Joe Satriani type of thing....but I don't want to be forced to listen to their respective libraries because I do not celebrate them.

I was watching ESPN today and they profiled the UCONN women's basketball team and one of the ladies had a helmet on. It looked like the kind of helmet you see rugby or Australian Rules Football players wear.

I'm editing a video project for some friends of mine and need a sound effect. There's going to be some slo motion stuff going on and I want to pair that with a guitar squeal. Like something you'd have heard back in the days of hair metal. I want the guitar to be all by itself - so no other instruments playing. I don't really know how to explain it better than that. I'll know it when I hear it so hit me with suggestions. Sorta like this: But more squeal.

I'm telling you it's just plain apathy on the student's part. Not that I want this to happen but if UW goes down in the tank for three or four years and then starts to get good again, you'll see that place full for every game.

But do they? I mean the ticket is sold already right? So the only thing they're missing out on revenue wise is concessions and if most students were like me they don't buy any because they are poor. They only advantage they would have is more butts in the seats to create a louder environment but they don't really need that for games against Coppin State.

Let's be honest. The students have been spoiled. When there were games during finals week when I was in school, we scheduled our studies around the games (this was when Michael Finley was in school and the program was starting to come around). Kids these days only show up in mass numbers for the big, marquee games.
