  1. Well the pitching has been pretty good those 11 games too.
  2. I think saves are more important. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Heck, Gillespie's numbers are better than most of those guys.
  4. I am not a fan of booing the home team as a general rule. Especially if a guy is at least trying. But when he demands a trade he can expect to be booed. The thing I don't get and the thing that's completely moronic to me are the people that boo him after he gets a hit. Would you have booed if he hit a home run? Take your ball and go home if that's your attitude.
  5. When do they announce the Futures Game participants? I would assume the Brewers reps would be Gamel and LaPorta - although there are several that have a shot off that Huntsville roster (i.e. Escobar, Salome)
  6. I don't know why but the fact that Tiger makes 5 times more in endorsement than he does playing golf continually boggles my mind.
  7. He had a bit part in Trading Places too.
  8. You guys jinxed Gamel - he committed error #12 tonight.
  9. Two emails, two small groups and all of a sudden it's a boo happy town? Jenkins got a standing O - just because a couple of high school kids booed him doesn't make MKE a boo happy place.
  10. If this proves that Counsell is 'clutch' then I want to be the first to rip on him for only doing well in 1% of his plate appearances. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I'm sure there will be some promotions after the draft - the Brewers typically move guys around at that time.
  12. Were you talking about Into the Wild? If so, i watched it yesterday and would highly recommend it, very very good movie. No need for me to write a review, just rent it if you haven't yet seen it, i can't see how anyone wouldn't like this movie. No, I think at the time I was talking about No Country for Old Men.
  13. Yep, you're right NDOG - that's exactly what happened. Thanks.
  14. Jeffress has recovered nicely. Line so far 7IP, 2H, 1ER, 2 BB, 6Ks
  15. "It rendered all postseason awards moot for me" Podsednik getting jobbed on ROY did it for me.
  16. Well collapse with extenuating circumstances then. I don't think anyone considered the Brewers a .500 team without Ben Sheets. Not to mention the Cubs run differential the first half of the year predicted they would greatly improve - and if memory serves the Brewers run differential predicted a fall from grace.
  17. "However, while 48K-55K may seem like a lot of money, in reality it is not." That totally and completely depends on the individual situation: location, family, lifestyle, etc. My dad taught junior high for 35 years, my mom stayed at home. I doubt very much that my dad made more than 60K in a year and that was at the end of his career when there were no dependents at home (he retired about 8 years ago). He was able to raise four kids on that salary. Granted we never took trips to Hawaii or had cool cars or even HBO but it was plenty of money. There are plenty of good jobs in the trades that go unfilled every year because people think they need to make $100K a year in order to survive. That's just not true. Not everyone is fit for college and not everyone should go.
  18. So I direct deposited, my soc sec ends in the 77 - 00 range and I still haven't gotten my rebate. Where do I go to check on this?
  19. "Angel Salome- I really like this little guy. Extremely high BABIP may portend some regression, but I still like his bat. " Not to hijack the thread, but remember the days not so long ago when we had to scour the far reaches of the internet just to get minor league LH/RH splits? My how far we've come in a very short while.
  20. I saw the same shirt when I was in Boston last week. They have a whole "I hate " line of shirts. I was walking past the vendor outside Fenway and some guy asked him if he had an I Hate Milwaukee shirt......he did not.
  21. And I wouldn't call it a collapse as much as it was the Cubs going insanely hot.
  22. Really needed that 8 innings out of Suppan yesterday with McClung going today. I'm sure we'll see Villy and Co by the 5th.
  23. I recommend getting a degree that can apply to lots of different fields. A general liberal arts degree like history or english or a communications degree are good bases from which to go into a variety of industries. At that point you can specialize or go back to grad school and do something different. There are lots of people with MBAs that started out as nurses or project managers or teachers or whatever. At the very least, find something you love and do that. Too many people chase money over enjoyment and end up hating what they do but a family or a mortgage or medical bills or whatever keeps them from really doing something fulfilling.
