  1. I had no idea "recap" was short for "recapitulation"
  2. Didn't IUPUI beat a decent D1 team the other night?
  3. Shut up. I hate you. So? Yeah, well, whatever.
  4. I worry about perimeter scoring. Outside of Bohanon and maybe Butch, who is a consistent three point threat?
  5. I'm really looking forward to seeing Hughes run the point. I think he might be something special.
  6. 1) How many pint size glasses of beer are in a keg (i.e. half barrel)? 2) How much does a keg of Guiness cost these days? How about Blue Moon? I'm assuming someone out there works for a distributor or owns/works at a bar.
  7. My buddy is a Phillies phan and thinks the world of Bourn Identity. He considers him a real sleeper - I think Houston made out OK if Bourn can get on base at a decent clip.
  8. Plus Winn played basketball at Santa Clara with Steve Nash which means.......almost nothing.
  9. People that talk on their cell phones at the gym. Bluetooth headsets - you look like a crazy person talking to yourself.
  10. Agreed. Changing the thread titles is a good idea.
  11. Yeah I wish I hadn't even used the word 'elitest' in my first post even though I wasn't calling anyone that word. I've been on the site for 5 years now and I know how much work everyone puts in - especially Mass - and to be honest my first take on his post was that there would be locking of threads if the proposal was ridiculous. After re-reading that post and others I can see that is not the case and so while I don't see the harm in someone putting out a goofy trade idea, I can see his point. Having said that, yes some research could be done to make a valid trade ideas, but could you also say that research needs to be done when claiming RBIs or saves are great metrics by which to judge a player? At what point is something opinion vs. fact? Just throwing that out there for argument's sake.
  12. Not to party poop on your party pooping, but whats the big deal? I generally stay out of threads where guys want to trade Bill Hall for Johan Santana but for every ridiculous proposal there are generally three or four legitimate proposals that are generated as a result. I hate to use the term 'elitest' because that's really not what this thread is, but it is a tad condescending in my opinion.
  13. Awesome. Now when people ask "What ever happened to Wes Weger?" I can answer intelligently.
  14. "Why was something imagined running around worrying about a terrorist attack." I think it was a satirical take on the perception that the threat of another terrorist attack is more imaginary than real. (and I am not taking sides either way, just saying what I thought the South Park guys were trying to say)
  15. I always question these types of injuries. (like getting hurt carrying deer meat, or pulling a muscle while sneezing) Maybe I'm a cynic but I always suspect they did something that costs them money per the terms of their contract. If this is true, then it's too bad. Am I a bad person for doubting the story?
  16. That Al Gore stuff was in another episode a year or two ago. He was after this fictional manbearpig and no one would listen to him. I laugh every time I hear him say "manbearpig".
  17. I like watching pitchers hit for the simple fact that when they do get on base its kind of exciting. Like an extra point in football - guys make 98% of them but when they miss it usually looms large.
  18. "What did those great players do in Detroit before he got there? " Ordonez was getting hurt (played 134 games between '04 and '05) Kenny Rogers was playing for Texas Verlander was in the minors Zumaya was in the minors Granderson was in the minors
  19. Jim Leyland has had great players - that's the biggest difference between managers.
  20. Taintette McFadden
  21. I'm really looking forward to the new Coen brothers movie. It's getting terrific reviews.
  22. Nice article. The more I read about LaPorta the more I like him as a person and a player.
  23. I've seen her in person recently. That pic does not do her justice (and really, she's pretty good looking in that pic anyway. Bad hair day maybe). She's still gorgeous.
  24. Not to mention a lot of Latin players are signed when they are 16 and 17 years old. Most American players are over 18. So imagine giving the same bonus a Latin player gets to a sophomore in high school.
