  1. Then why don't we eat cats? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Finding a use for that high school graduation money, huh?
  3. Depends on the breed of pig. Some are really friendly.
  4. Wow Valpo. Are you sure you didn't mean that entire post to be in blue font? I like the hair metal days too (I own CDs by White Lion, Whitesnake, Firehouse and my iPod has pretty much every hair metal ballad ever written), but I don't take it all that seriously. To me, hair metal is the disco for a new generation - everyone listened to it but no one wants to admit it.
  5. When Plush first started getting radio play I thought it was Pearl Jam so I can see why you confuse the two.
  6. Wow. I had no idea his velocity had come back that much. Promote Manny!!!
  7. Eventually I think he might be but Brad Hawpe and Freddy Sanchez might have him right now. thebaseballcube.com/draft/2000/Round-11-1.shtml
  8. Not to mention Brewer is 21/27 on stolen bases. How's his arm?
  9. To me there's a big difference between "face it, this team sucks!" and "that was a stupid move by Yost." The former is a general vent, the latter is complaining about the current game.
  10. Parra really needs to be bumped up. 6IP 2H 0BB and 6Ks so far tonight. I wouldn't complain if they stuck him in the Brewers bullpen right now. EDIT: Now 7IP and 8Ks
  11. Wow. That is like every hair metal band ever. I would actually check that out if it was in Milwaukee - just for the nostaglia and people watching.
  12. 1) the baserunning mistakes are moronic 2) It's travesty Villy isn't going to win this game 3) Free Villy!
  13. Utley and Adrian Gonzalez both came out of that draft.
  14. Yeah, so Yo is more than OK now. 6 IP 12K 1 BB
  15. No, Shane just rides off into the sunset while the little kid screams after him.
  16. I really appreciated the musicianship of the band members but I cannot stand most of the fans (or is it phans?). I went to a show at Alpine Valley and it seemed like one big contest to see who could appear more forelorn and poor. People selling veggie wraps, bead necklaces, and all things hemp while simultaneously wearing designer underwear and leaving the parking lot in daddy's Volvo. I see some of the same with Dave Matthews. It's almost like a certain segment of the population has to find some jam band to latch onto and follow around. Once the Dead broke up it became Phish once Phish broke up it became Dave. /rant Back on topic. I'm more or less indifferent on Phish - liked a few songs (Fee for example) but on the whole it wasn't my thing. Trey is an amazing guitar player though - saw him on Austin City Limits once and he ruled.
  17. This thread reminds me of a thread on another board where we discussed the meaning of U2's "One" for like 190 posts.
  18. Can you deduct rent off your income taxes? Because you can deduct the interest on your mortgage. And you don't get your rent back when your lease is up. As long as you are willing to ride out a bump in the real estate market then you should make money on the sale of your condo as well - and that income is tax free I believe if you own your place for more than two years.
  19. Yeah, I know all about Mother Love Bone and I own the Temple of the Dog CD. My opinion is that had Nirvana not made it big it would have been much tougher for the likes of PJ and Soundgarden to make it big. I didn't mean that if Nirvana never existed that those other bands would never have gotten together. The movie Singles probably helped as well (and for those of you that don't own it, get the soundtrack. One of the best movie soundtracks ever - Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Jimi Hendrix, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, etc.) I didn't mean to imply that if Nirvana never existed that those other bands would never have gotten together.
  20. Should this have been in blue? If not, I suppose the next topic of discussion will be that Puddle of Mudd is Generation Y's answer to the Rolling Stones.
  21. Fair enough. In any case, I think we can agree that there was a whole lot of ass kickin' music from Seattle back in the day.
  22. RKFG, I'm not discounting influence, I was talking commercial success. If Nirvana had never been signed to a big record deal and gotten mega huge, I wonder if the "Seattle sound" and "grunge" would have been as big a deal. Just my opinion....hardly nonsensical. And I've seen PJ three times and the Pumpkins once.
  23. I think both benefited from the 'grunge' love fest in the early 90's. Without Nirvana there is no Pearl Jam, without Pearl Jam there is no Soundgarden. Smashing Pumkins weren't from the Seattle scene but I think they were comparable early in their career until Billy started to experiment a little more. I prefer the Pumpkins, but I also own a couple of Soundgarden CDs. In fact, Birth Ritual from the Singles soundtrack is one of the most rockin' songs ever, IMO. But then again I feel the same way about Bodies from the Pumpkins. I guess I just dug the Pumpkins sound more than Soundgarden - through Mellon Collie anyway. After that they kind of mellowed a little too much for my taste.
  24. I didn't watch the show on a regular basis, but I've seen it enough to know the characters and I've seen enough this season to know most of the plot lines. I liked the ending. I like finale's that aren't all neat and tidy with all loose ends tied up. American cinema (and to me Soprano's is more cinema than television) is so geared towards answering every open ended question that it's kind of weird when it doesn't happen. I don't see anything wrong with leaving it open to interpretation - if anything it makes a more lasting impression.
  25. "noone" is not a word. It's the last name of the lead singer of Herman's Hermits. No one should forget this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
