  1. Seems like a lot of off-season stuff is going in the 2025 in-season thread.
  2. I caught Train Dreams on Netflix last night and loved it. It's about a guy living his life in rural Idaho right around World War I and all the joy, struggles, and heartache that entails. It reminded me of A River Runs Through It. It's certainly not for everyone as it's not plot-driven and there isn't a ton of action but the cinematography is gorgeous and Joel Edgerton is fantastic.
  3. The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins on NBC is pretty funny. It's a midseason replacement, and they've only aired the pilot. It starts up again in March. The showrunner was a writer on 30 Rock, and it definitely has the same vibe.
  4. I finally caught Sinners on HBO. I respect when filmmakers bend genres and take risks, and this certainly fits both of those bills. I wish I had seen it in the theaters. Some of the shots would have really been neat to see on the big screen. I thought it was too dialogue-heavy, which is my big complaint about a lot of movies these days (Matt Damon lifting the veil on a potential reason why), and had kind of a choppy edit. I enjoyed the music and the visuals and the themes but I don't think this movie was any kind of game-changer or anything.
  5. Bucks must be in tank mode. No way any respectable team would keep Doc on at this point.
  6. this is just an FYI
  7. Now check out Joe Namath's stats.
  8. AI has a ways to go
  9. I think it's funny that the Vikings thought Darnold wasn't worth it
  10. Seems like Packers fans dislike this one more than the pundits. I wonder if that's because of Leonhard? Anyway, I am keeping an open mind.
  11. Crediting the defense for the success of the pitching lab is certainly a reasonable argument.
  12. Article from spring training 2023: https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/03/21/what-goes-on-inside-the-brewers-mysterious-pitching-lab/70026803007/ Oops, already linked above. One quote from the article:
  13. Brewers are doing something right. If it's not the lab then its something else. Why other teams aren't copying them is because it's hard to copy, apparently.
  14. USC gets to the line a LOT. Gotta stay out of foul trouble.
  15. UW is playing at the fastest tempo since KenPom started (1997). Last year was 2nd fastest. Gard has really changed the offensive philosophy. I don't know what they're giving up to do that, but it's interesting nonetheless.
  16. FWIW https://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-taco-theory-on-trump-makes-every-dip-a-buy-analyst-says-182738328.html
  17. I have a lot of IU alum friends. Happy for them. But now I guess I have to start hating IU.
  18. and then he kicks the field goal in a nearly identical situation to go up 6. hope it works out for them.
  19. Will anyone remember that was 4th down? I doubt it. But had it failed....
  20. Charlie Becker is very good at football
  21. Leonhard seems like an obvious candidate given they offered him the job once before and now he has NFL experience.
