  1. I think it's the fact that soccer is accessible everywhere else in the world and here you need to join a club/travel team.
  2. Gah. Sorry. I knew I should have asked first.
  3. A co-worker took his family to Iceland and they loved it. I was there maybe 18 years ago and had a great time.
  4. Oops, missed the "infield" part of your post.
  5. "Manager Pat Murphy suggested last night that infielder David Hamilton could be IL-bound."
  6. Not surprisingly, BA has moved Milwaukee up to #1 farm system https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/mlb-farm-system-midseason-talent-rankings-for-july-2026/
  7. I didn't think they'd get much further but didn't expect them to go out like a fart in the wind.
  8. I don't think the Angels are trading Neto so it's moot but fun thought exercise. I don't know how position value works anymore but does moving Neto to 3B mess with his value? I'm not sure if that is as big a deal in today's MLB as it used to be.
  9. Yeah but Neto hasn't played an inning of 3rd base since college. If they went that route they'd probably do what they usually do and get a utility guy who has already played 3rd.
  10. FIFA is hilarious.
  11. Josh Exley (The X-Files): In the famous season six episode, Fox Mulder discovers that the legendary 1940s slugger Josh Exley was an alien from Roswell, New Mexico. Exley was so good that Arthur Dales jokingly speculated all the greatest players—including Babe Ruth and Willie Mays—were aliens
  12. Let's go for the all time record! Joe Bauman holds the record for the most home runs in a single minor league baseball season, hitting 72 home runs for the Roswell Rockets in 1954
  13. Have the number of teams stayed the same the last few years? I didn't check
  14. There are 43 dudes with an OPS over 1.000 in the DSL this year. Last year, there were 7. The year before that, there were 9.
  15. I can't say I'm inspired by this hire. Meh. On the other hand, I don't know who would have inspired me.
  16. "Pirates Gold" will always be funny to me.
  17. Yeah I can see that. Maybe I'm underestimating Detmers' value.
  18. I like the idea of going for Detmers as a cheaper option (prospect-wise) than Skubal. He's only 26, has two years of control remaining, and seems to be finally tapping into his potential.
  19. Hope he brings the shorts with him
  20. Also Glenn Braggs...who was built like an NFL edge rusher.
