  1. I am hoping for a series win, that's it....although this ia a different year, remember that Hudson, the guy going on Sunday, pitched 12 innings of 4 hit, shutout ball vs. the Brewers last year. That Reds offense is nasty potentially too...While the pitching has been their demise, I think the inner-team strife has taken just as much a toll on the Reds this year....
  2. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend with a meaninless statement. Next time I will ask for permission to write. Sounds good.
  3. rluz stated: .220 BA, .650 OPS an OK goal by the year? NL average SS this year only has a .681 OPS. Heck, JJ may reach that by the end of this game if he hits another dinger before the night ends... JJ is starting to rake.
  4. Not including today, Sheets has given up 19 of his 39 runs between pitches 16-30. Over half! Sorry rluz, but I am loving the new math.
  5. In Ben's 11 starts he has given up 12 runs and 4 dingers in the first inning..... Reminds me of Ron Guidry - if you are going to get him, get him early.
  6. Mulder is a bit of a vampire himself, as he is 9-1 with a 2.22 at night and 1-4 with a 7.82 ERA and .354 batting average against during the day. Righties are hitting .302 vs. Mulder this year while lefties are in the mid .100's
  7. A leafoff walkoff dinger for Corey Hart nets the extra inning win for Nashville. Hart picks up his 22nd and 23rd stolen bases tonight as well....he is now third in the league in stolen bases.
  8. You people are frickin weird.... JDLR was very good there, and has been for all but a handful of appearances....why Yost has no faith in him is as perplexing, but no moreso than some of the reactions on this board.... I think I need a week off from this place.
  9. i hope green shirt guy gets razzed a lot, cause he acted like prototypical jerk......nice to see yellow shirt guy get a little swag.
  10. Excellent job by Lee with the dinger to tie it up Excellent job by Jenkins to atone for his error by nailing the runner at home in 8th Excellent job by Magruder to leadoff the 9th with a double Excellent relief work by the bullpen to give us the chance to win it Excellent job by the fans in coming out and putting over 40K fannies in the seats Excellent job by Palmeiro in reaching 3000 tonight
  11. homer, was that line an original? Cause that was a work of art......
  12. Santana was filthy there....those 2 94's at the knees and then the dial up to 96... That was just sick.
  13. remember when Eric Gregg gave Livan Hernandez that crazy strike zone in the world series? Does Livan have all the blues on his payroll or just Davidson now?
  14. See, and people in baseball will tell you that play was not Moeller's fault at all, but Sheets for missing the bunt and hanging the runner out to dry if the catcher has a gun, which Schneiders does. Those crazy kids.
  15. perfect throw got Lee....but by all means rip on Lee....jeesh
  16. Chad Moeller now has a 9 game hitting streak dating back to June 19th.... I sure wish they had drawn and quartered him as so many suggested earlier in the year.....
  17. I wonder if this is what the Nationals board looks like? Livan Seems off tonight. He can usually hit the strikezone with no problem. Looks more like Drese than Livan. Wishing Drese was out there Livan is looking very... *what's the word I'm looking for?* ...bad. do you think Livan told them to keep Ayala around just for today; i cannot ever remember Livan getting so hammered in an inning; if it only two runs, I will be happy - and as I type... it was only.... two... wow
  18. Katin has quite literally been a man amongst boys.....that average is higher than any time at Miami - I guess he is making an ok adjustment to wood bats.
  19. Wow BMuch, congrats, that is cool. p.s. i assume you are familiar with the Elvis Costello tune with your new daughters name....one of my favorite songs ever.
  20. or maybe his wife just had a heck of a brutal labor
  21. The Brewers have signed 22-year-old undrafted outfielder Nate Yoho and assigned him to Arizona rookie Now all we need is another ho and a bottle of rum.....wait, that didn't sound right
  22. Just to pull out a nice mention of Braun's fielding.....which we do not always get... Braun, a former University of Miami (Fla.) standout, finished 0-for-4 with two strikeouts but came up with two nice fielding plays on short hops and started a double play with another grounder.
  23. I am a big fan of Hoffy. However, I am not sure if it is because I really enjoy his baseball acumen or because he really reminds me of Gary Busey.
  24. Adam LaRoche's father Dave always killed the Brewers too...Dave LaRoche was the famous eephus ball pitcher that made Gorman Thomas look foolish in the early 80's.
