  1. Two reasons: 1) Illinois can't be bothered to put up signs inforrming us of how much the toll is until 3 feet before the tollbooth, and 2) its dangerous to dig through your change while driving.
  2. Nice to see, but unfortunately Ken Rosenthal is almost always wrong. ----------------- See this thread: Ken Rosenthal predicts that Yovani Gallardo will win the NL Cy Young --1992 -----------------
  3. Yeah, why keep track of your purchases by hand if your bank already does it for you? It just seems like a huge waste of time to me, unless there is some other reason for it I'm missing.
  4. I only think its rude when the cashier at the new line says "I can help whoevers next" and then the person last in line goes over, because they're obviously not next. If the new cashier just turns on the light and doesn't say anything, its fair game.
  5. I didn't upload it, but I made the song, put the video together, and was one of the people in it. sorry!
  6. Brewers Bucks Fulham FC, when they're on TV (otherwise I'll find some internet stream) All other games I'm interested in Any movie I like that happens to be on TV Otherwise, I'll probably just have MLB Network or NBATV on in the background. I can't ever get into TV shows because I never remember when they're on.
  7. Tell that to New York! Competition naming aside, I would still like to see a Champions League of baseball.
  8. His greatest moment was when he had to make a spot start, was up to around 500 pitches through 4 innings, and Ned kept him in so he could (presumably) try to get the win. I don't remember exactly how that ended, but it wasn't pretty. edit: ah, here we go: http://www.baseball-refer...s/NYN/NYN200405080.shtml Not quite as bad as I remember, but certainly one of the all-time smoke-and-mirrors pitching performances.
  9. Wasn't the World Series originally sponsored by a newspaper called the "New York World', hence the name?
  10. 10+ hits, 10+ Ks (pitching), 10+ putouts. But really, I suppose it could be 10+ of any stat, sort of like the rare steal-assist-turnover triple double in basketball. Whichever way, hasn't been done in awhile.
  11. If you're into that sort of thing, they just started accepting applications for World Cup tickets: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/index.html
  12. If you're spending that much money, just get a fast desktop and a small, lightweight laptop (like a netbook). You won't enjoy lugging that massive gaming "laptop" (they don't really fit on anybody's lap) around, and it will be obsolete and not very upgradeable in a year.
  13. That's me. But hey, at least now I can feel like less of a leech!
  14. Redd hasn't been a top 20 player most of his career, but you could argue that he was playing like one before his injury. Most defensive metrics I've seen show him as being *very* much improved this season. While I think that Mbah a Moute is at least partially responsible for that, its also very possible that he's responded positively to having a good coach around for once.
  15. FWIW, I used to get Brewers games blacked out via MLB.TV when I lived in Minnesota. It may be due to the fact that I had a WI billing address on my credit card, but I'm not certain onthat.
  16. Yep, I'm on USCC. I mostly followed a howto from ppcgeeks.com, though I used a pre-built ROM from xda-developers.org instead. It wasn't too painful, but there were a few scary moments due to the guide I followed leaving out some important bits - biggest one I remember was needing to do a hard reset right before loading the ROM, otherwise it gets stuck on the bootloader screen.
  17. My first thought was that he sounded cross between Powell and Pat Hughes. My dad actually mentioned to me that he thought the same thing.
  18. I also have this. I love it, because I have so much stuff that I carry around that it has essentially replaced: phone Internet tablet mp3 player XM receiver I've also unlocked mine and upgraded the radio firmware to enable GPS, which gives me yet another gadget that I didn't have before. Battery life isn't great, but thats probably to be expected for something I use so extensively.
  19. * > The Woodmans Shopping Experience That includes razor blades in girl scout cookies.
  20. And that's probably not a bad idea at all. The thing I'm most worried about at this point is filling out the rest of the roster. CV is gone, but we're probably going to have to trade Jefferson anyway for spare parts. Hopefully he keeps this hot streak up, and we can get some good young talent back. Or hope that the Grizzlies become huge Dan Gadzuric fans really soon.
  21. Someone who will ask those crazy dudes in the Buckethead Brigade the tough questions like "where did you get all that cardboard?" Oh Bobby Brainerd, where have you been?
  22. I went to Circuit City a few days ago, and I was extremely unimpressed. Most of the TVs they had seemed like they were actually more expensive than normal prices for the same model at other stores. I'm pretty sure they mark stuff up quite a bit in order to get those 30-50% numbers.
  23. Kohl is going to have to go over the Luxury Tax cap now, or else we won't have enough players to fill a roster. If all of our free space (probably about $5m) goes to Sessions, that leaves us with: Redd Jefferson Bogut Mbah a Moute Sessions Bell Ridnour Elson Alexander Gadzuric Allen Only 11 players, and Redd won't be back at the start of the season. Either we go over the tax, or we're going to have to trade Jefferson for someone slightly cheaper in order to afford roster filler like Eddie Gill. edit: I suppose we could also trade RJ (or someone) for spare parts, forgot about that.
  24. From what I've seen, its not so easy to find great deals online for TVs as it is for anything else. Things might be cheaper, but shipping costs are usually high. That said, I do see really good deals pop up every couple of weeks on buy.com. Also, Target had a 32" 720p Westinghouse for $350 when I was there the other day. Probably a little outdated, but still a good deal for that size.
