  1. Why does Ned seem content to just give up any time the Brewers get behind by more than a couple runs? Blah blah blah can't manage every game like the 7th game of the World Series, I know...but that doesn't mean you have to manage every game like a preseason exhibition game. Did Brian Shouse really need work so badly that he had to pitch to tough righties?
  2. He'd be a good DH for the Mariners. Then again, so would a lot of people.

  11. "Uh coach? I just wanted to say that...I think carrying three catchers is a good idea."
  12. The official criteria for gold glove winners is that they must fall into one of three categories, in this order of preference: Best hitter at the position who isn't complete crap defensively Last year's gold glove winner Worst hitter at the position
  13. I don't think this is something that we, as fans, are in any position to speculate on. If he's been carrying this injury for awhile, that's all the explanation I need - if it hurts to pitch, you're not going to be successful, regardless of any mental issues.
  14. His defense has been fine. Sure, he's made a few mistakes, but even in those cases, you have to give him some credit for being in a position to make a play. Most guys wouldn't have even been near the ball.
  15. I think Plesac was the last Brewer All-Star to fit this description. As for serviceable pitchers...um...Mike Adams and Valerio De Los Santos?
  16. Predicting that Pena becomes our closer next year, does well, and then flames out in 2010. Not terribly bold, I know.
  17. Baja Fresh. It's kind of one of those Qdoba/chipotle type places, but tastes better IMO.
  18. This Uzbek team must have some crazy rich Russian mafia owner. Last week, they signed another player from Vasco da Gama, which probably wasn't cheap...it looks like they're in the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League, so maybe they are trying to buy that. I don't know why, I'd probably spend the money bribing UEFA to let them in. As for Barca, they have Bojan Krki? coming up too...scored 10 goals last season as a 17 year old. Hleb is fantastic, and Piqué looks like a good prospect. I think they'll be alright.
  19. This is so ridiculous, I just had to post it. I love it. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_3831057,00.html Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is considering an offer to play in the Uzbekistani league. For those who don't follow European soccer, this would be like A-Rod leaving the Yankees to sign with a team in...well, Uzbekistan. Apparently he just flew in this morning to discuss a contract - the team's website even has pictures of Eto'o meeting with club officials. I can't think of anything like this happening before, in any sport.
  20. The MacBook is prettier, but the MacBook Pro is cuter. FWIW, all of those programs are exactly the same under Windows (except in windows, you can right-click too). As for real advice, I always lean toward the smaller, more portable laptop, I suppose this would be the regular MacBook. I can't stand monster laptops that are too big to fit on my lap and difficult to carry around - might as well just get a desktop at that point. Maybe the best compromise is to get a smaller laptop, and use the money you save to buy a desktop (which would likely be much more powerful)?
  21. It's the Klements sausage racers! So why do they race? They race for taste! It's Frankie, and Guido, and Stosh, And Brett Wurst, and Cinco! Just look at them go, Because they know, When you run out of Klements, You run out of taste!
  22. Its not quite so hard when you also lead the league in ABs.
  23. "There is nobody happier in this park...than Bud Selig."
  24. Something tells me this George Sherrill guy is going to have an ERA over 6 by the end of the season. CLOSERS WHO FLAME OUT
  25. Not Brewer-related, but I wonder at times when someone is going to bring back Toe Nash, thinking they can get another Josh Hamilton.
