  1. This article makes no sense. After reading through it twice, I still have no idea what point he's trying to make.
  2. Hasn't the Caveman thing been done already? Phil Hartman is rolling in his grave. edit: if you google "unfrozen caveman lawyer", a picture of Johnny Damon comes up. hehe.
  3. I don't think he's ever given us a reason not to believe that he can come back. He may need a rehab start in AAA, but I'm sure he'll be fine.
  4. Is there some kind of rule that says you can't put in one of your best reliever in a critical, game-on-the-line situation just because its only the 6th inning? What would the score be right now if Turnbow, Linebrink, or even Shouse came on in the 6th? NOPE ITS ONLY THE 6TH WE HAVE TO PUT IN OUR CRAPPIEST PITCHER* edit: oh darn we're losing better put in spurling we can't win now no-sir-ee *nothing against Villanueva, but he has been bad lately.
  5. Ouch. What has he ever done to deserve that? Maybe I could understand if he were Bill Hall's age, but...he's 31!
  6. Unfortunately, I think this is a free preview until September. After that, it will be $15/month with Dish as well.
  7. I was almost amazed by the reception Counsell gets from Arizona fans. Every game I went to during spring training this year, he got a standing ovation during the player introductions or whenever he came into the game. Maybe Brewers players need to win a championship before they are free from booing after they move to another team.
  8. For those who are interested, there is some discussion on this going on here: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=577585 Peter Wilt clarified some things in that thread. It sounds like the Milwaukee Mile's main seating area will be used as one of the stands, and the field will roll up to that, similar to the Arizona Cardinals' field. The other 3 stands will be movable, and can be stored in the tracks infield during races. It actually sounds like a decent plan. The guy who proposed this was apparently hired by Jim Doyle to make the Mile profitable again, and it looks like this stadium is part of his plan.
  9. Either way, you are re-encoding already compressed music, which lowers quality. That's the main reason I still buy CDs - I can convert them to any format I like, and not have to deal with a ton of incompatible proprietary DRM formats.
  10. Just like Major League II. You know Damian Miller does kind of look like Tom Berenger. Its true....in fact, my wife always refers to him as Jake Taylor. I wouldn't mind Frank Kremblas myself. He doesn't have MLB experience, but baseball is baseball, and he has lots of experience working with our current players. I guess you could use the "has been successful at every level" tag that we used during Corey Hart's rise through the minors for Kremblas.
  11. Cubs win on a wild pitch...can Suppan and Capuano get some of that luck, please?
  12. Ouch...swinging at ball four...we could have had Braun up with the bases loaded against a lefty.
  13. Uh...apparently Hugh Nicol's 139 stolen bases in 1887 mean nothing.
  14. Looks good, but is there a way to change the font size? They're huge!
  15. With the Castillo trade, the Twins saw the opportunity to get more (s)crappy battlers like Nick Punto and Jason Bartlett into the lineup. Its the Twins' way, I don't see why anyone should be surprised...Santana included.
  16. Weren't Junior Spivey and Jeffrey Hammonds in that club too?
  17. Why? You can't just choose to ignore one stat just because it doesn't support your opinion. His OBP has been good all season.
  18. As far as I can tell, this is a bunch of crap (though, what do you expect from a Best Buy salesman?). No networks are currently broadcasting in 1080p, or plan to do so any time in the near future. There are some HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs encoded at 1080p, but that's about it. As others have said, and based on everything I've heard, its pretty difficult to tell the difference on a TV under 50" unless you sit a couple feet away. If the price difference isn't that much, I don't see any problem with getting a 1080p TV, but its probably not necessary at this point.
  19. IIRC, the Wave and the Rampage "United" to become Milwaukee Wave United. They dropped the outdoor USL team a couple years ago. The quality of play in that league really isn't bad...the Rampage actually had Brian McBride for a year, before he went to Germany.
  20. I don't think MLS would go for it, since they seem to be granting expansion clubs to cities with a soccer-specific stadium, or plans to build one. Former Chicago Fire GM Peter Wilt is still working on getting land secured for a stadium, but it sounds like there hasn't been much progress lately. Which is too bad, I'd love to see a team in Milwaukee. Even a USL team would be nice.
  21. I think the Brewers used a 6 man rotation a couple years ago, and it didn't work too well. Of course, I also think that rotation included either Luis Martinez or Ben Hendrickson (or was it both?).
  22. Shouldn't he be concentrating on driving, and not screwing around on the computer?
  23. Einsturzende Neubauten and Andrew WK.
  24. Russell Branyan Derek Jeter Alex Rodriguez Brian Giles Will Inman http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  25. That's not what I said. I generally don't dislike bad players just for being bad...I just don't like it when bad players are perceived to be good. I guess I'm saying that Eckstein is horribly overrated. I suppose thats not his fault, but it doesn't help that he looks like an obnoxious hyperactive little kid on the field, and that he plays for a division rival. FWIW, I do realize that I have some odd reasons for hating players. For example, I hate Craig Biggio because his batting helmet looks like its way too big for him.
