  1. Einhorn shoots Ace Ventura and Dan Marino. The Dolphins lose the Super Bowl and the shikaka never gets returned to the Wachati.
  2. I don't care how old or fat Shaq is now...this trade is a Starter jacket's dream.
  3. The Brewers have not won a game in 137 days.
  4. I'm not sure. It was really only last year that he had any trouble at all, too. It's not entirely the same as innings, but in 2006 and before he seemed to do better as his pitchcount went up. Pitches 1-15, otoh, were his worst.
  5. Cable companies get their feeds from satellite dishes anyway, so maybe something happened there...
  6. I have an account at dyndns.org, and run a client that updates an A record for something.dyndns.org when needed. I then have a CNAME for home.mydomain.com that points to the dyndns.org hostname, and that has worked pretty well for me.
  7. The reason there is a shortage is because that's how Nintendo wants it. They negotiate prices with each store (or chain, in most cases), and if Nintendo keeps the supply low, the stores will pay more for them. Fair play to those who buy them to resell, they have to go through the same trouble to get them as everybody else. That time is clearly worth something, as long as there are people willing to overpay for them on ebay. Nobody NEEDS to buy a Wii.
  8. Not much, but I have extras of these: 2007 Chris Capuano 2007 Pete Vuckovich mini 2007 Don Money mini If anybody needs these, I'd be interested in trading for some others - let me know what you have.
  9. I'm pretty sure "professional hitter" is the baseball equivalent of "possession receiver".
  10. Yep, definitely an NHL fan, I just don't have a team. It was the 90s style with the skating puck. We got married right outside Miller Park last march. It was pretty informal (obviously), but people called me beforehand and asked what to wear, so I told them to wear whatever they want. I said that I'd either be in an ultra serious business suit or a hockey jersey...I went with the hockey jersey.
  11. Chelsea Walham Green Dog Track FC is the new Bolton. I don't really have any second-favorite teams, so my only non-Wisconsin favorites would probably be St Cloud State in college sports (mostly hockey, they're D2 in everything else) and Fulham in English football. St Cloud is an obvious one because I went to school there. I started following Fulham because they always seemed to be signing American players, but eventually became a die-hard fan. I think I just love teams who always disappoint me. NHL is a weird one for me, because I don't really have a favorite team. I followed the Blackhawks and the Wild for awhile, but never really felt like a fan. I did get married wearing a Canucks jersey, though!
  12. The Miller "+$#%" commercials from the mid-90s were the best commercials ever for any product, save perhaps the Quiznos hamsters from a few years back. I have no idea why this is. edit: the shortened version of "Richard" is bad? I'm going to assume its ok when referring to a person's name.
  13. To be fair we have been winning more since all of the september call-ups arrived. Whether or not we've been winning despite Ned is up in the air.
  14. So, because there is no alternative means people can't complain about ESPN? I don't understand. If there were alternatives, then yes, complaining about ESPN would be silly because you could easily watch something else. But if ESPN is the only choice and you think its bad, then all you can really do is either complain or start your own cable sports network. And the latter just isn't realistic.
  15. Its not Sheets' fault Estrada can't throw a baseball all the way to 2nd base on the fly.
  16. So, I can pay $125 deposit for a terrace level 20-game pack, get playoff tickets, and then upgrade later? I assume that means I only get terrace level tickets in the playoffs, but that sounds good to me.
  17. LF - $9m is way too much for a platoon player. I'm fine with Gross/Mench as long as we stick to a straight platoon and don't freak out when one of them goes 2-20 in a week. C - I think Estrada will be back, and I suspect Miller will sign a 1-year deal if he doesn't retire. If Miller is gone, Mike Rivera would do just fine as a backup, and hopefully challenge Estrada for a more significant chunk of playing time. Bullpen/Closer - Closers are expensive, so I'd hate to spend a huge amount of money there if we have other spots we can upgrade. I've been thinking for most of the season that Claudio Vargas would be a good candidate to be converted to a closer/late reliever. He'd certainly be cheaper than any free agents, and probably just as effective.
  18. Does anyone else always think of the Tennesee Rocky Top fight song when they hear this?
  19. I think they've done this every year with the AAA manager after their season ended. I definitely remember Kremblas up at the end of the last couple seasons.
  20. I'm going to guess that the seller's account got hacked by some nigerian scammer. When this happens, ebay freezes the user's account so they pretty much can't do anything. It happened to my wife once, she just had to contact ebay to have them re-enable it, change her password, and everything was back to normal. You're probably pretty safe though, if you don't hear anything from the seller you can file a "item not received" dispute with paypal and get your money back.
  21. Could they put Villanueva in at 3rd base against one batter and move Koskie to the 60-day DL?
  22. He only has 97 ABs this year - he actually raised his AVG to .237 tonight. He's probably not an everyday player like Hart hopefully is, but he is a very good platoon player. He should be able to match (or come very close to) Jenkins' production over a full season.
  23. Apparently now this guy is suing Barry Bonds, Bud Selig, and "Hank Aaron's bat". He says that Bonds stores steroids inside Hank Aaron's corked bat, used the bat to crack the liberty bell, sells steroids to nuns, sold mustard gas to Saddam Hussein, and secretly meets with Selig to discuss TV ratings (where Selig supplies Bonds with steroids). Read the complaint, it's hilarious: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0816071riches1.html I can't remember the last time I've laughed so hard. This guy is amazing.
  24. A lot of the time in youth leagues, its the age of a player at the start of the competition that matters. So if he was still 8 at the beginning of the season, he can play through the rest of the season. Though if that's the case, he should be qualified to play in either, and I can't imagine why they wouldn't want this kid to play against tougher competition.
  25. Let's just be thankful we never had to watch Ben Hendrickson pitch there. I have a feeling that could have been frightening.
