  1. So Rosenthal is the only player Peters could be dealt for? Also, does a couple weeks of results supercede a prospects career performance?
  2. Garret Mitchell is actually hotter right now. Tough decision between the 2, but I bet they simply do nothing. Gotta keep those 40 man roster spots open for no hit, dime a dozen 4th string catchers.
  3. His last time in the post season Rosenthal have up 6 runs in 4 innings.
  4. Better to save the money for a real move. Better to save the prospect for a real trade. I'm always told we'd have to empty the farm system to make a significant deal, but we give away guys for Daniel Norris, John Curtis, Rosentha...
  5. No potential for high reward, the ceiling here was 10 innings. This deal was simply flushing money and a prospect down the drain.
  6. I don't like any idea that starts with Yelich at DH. Hiura is simply a better hitter. Yelich can be the 4th OF if they find better OFs. The money Stearns blew on him is spent money, don't let they lead to another bad decision.
  7. In the least surprising news possible, Rosenthal just left the Sounds game with the trainer. This after he was knocked around. A beyond senseless trade.
  8. Yelich has a 766 OPS versus LH starters, so he should still start. However, he gets destroyed by LH relief specialist, so they should PH for him consistently. Yes, the team doesn't have enough quality, complete players. Adding 1 high quality hitter to this team would change the lineup significantly, especially when he takes McCutchen's roster spot so the team has some positional versatility. Having 2 RHH CFs on the roster, one they can't hit and the other that hasn't hit, is also a detriment.
  9. Yup, the same in the minors too. I can't wrap my mind around how people can't understand this. It's not rocket science. It's really easy to get Hiura in the lineup. He's simply as great as any hitter they've ever had against RHP. Versus a rhp, you simply ink him into the lineup, then fill in the rest of the spots.
  10. Hiura now has an OPS 435 points higher than McCutchen versus RHP this year. I wonder who DHs today? I'll guess they'll somehow decide to go with McCutchen. If they do, we don't really deserve to win.
  11. I think the owner has told Craig that his favorite player, McCutchen, must play every day. McCutchen stinks versus RHP, has for years, and has no business being in the lineup over Hiura versus a rhp.
  12. Signing McCutchen and pretending like it was a big move drove fans away. Attanasio needs to show more respect to the fan base. We're not morons. Signing McCutchen was a huge waste of money, and made the team worse, since he's playing in front of a superior player. Also, don't fall for the owners accounting tricks. They're making money hand over fist. They have an ownership stake in subsidiary businesses, so they make there cash there and report little earnings here. It's a joke, really.
  13. He added 2 more today. As his swing adjustments continue, this will be old news soon.
  14. I'm guessing you don't actually watch any games. He's made numerous adjustments, and he's hitting better up in the zone. He's easily the best hitter on the team.
  15. Straight up lying to cover for CC. Hiura has had dramatic reverse splits his whole career. Disgusting. Hope they drop BA after the season.
  16. CC would overcome all the shortcomings of the team in most seasons, but he hasn't been himself this season. Increasingly lazy managing won't get this team to the postseason, there's just not enough talent.
  17. Acquiring injured Taylor Rogers wasn't the smartest move.
  18. Beeter isn't on the level of Mitchell or Turang. I'd been fine with Black, he's doesn't look athletic enough to stick in the infield, and that makes him a very ho hum prospect. They won't call up Frelick because Stearns needs to maintain extra 40 man spots for no hit utility infielders and 4th string catchers. Frelick would be fun.
  19. The problem the Brewers have is their team OPS isn't high enough. I believe Gallo would help raise it in place of Jonathon Davis. We have up a quality prospect for a guy who doesn't even play baseball. I'd have given up a prospect for Gallo.
  20. I remain bullish on Ashby. Phenomenal stuff. He'll get there.
  21. What's your point? Those are also good players. Were any of those players available to acquire?
  22. You pretend like Gallo strikes out 100% of the time. He doesn't. He's had numerous All-Star seasons with an OPS over 900, and had huge K totals in all of them. What do all the teams that score more than the Brewers have in common? They have a higher team OPS.
  23. I'd rather concentrate on how often the player gets safe, and the number of bases those produce.
  24. Yes, runs scored is a product of OPS, the type of outs made has an inconsequential affect on runs scored.
  25. Statistically, it's inconsequential. However, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, go with it.
