  1. The answer to these questions is always the Lions. I so wish I could place a Noob Noob pic and saying after that!
  2. Thanks for info. That is a stunner! Hope Jachai takes this as wake up call and gets serious or the next time we see him it might be a Youtube "Whatever happened to...".
  3. 100% correct! Just make sure Pina is his personal catcher! Pina will be the starter next year, and we'll be better for it. He has a history as a solid hitter. I swear most of his homers come in key moments. His defense is far superior, and salary is very manageable. I'd try to offer him a 3 year deal for about $10-12 million, with an option. I really hope so. I know lot around here have blamed the collapse of the pitching on losing Derek Johnson, but I really wonder how much Grandal has contributed to that. Chemistry between the pitcher and catcher is vastly underrated. Just from my POV, our pitchers don't look comfortable with Grandal back there. Last year with Pina and Kratz, the pitchers appeared more confident and attacked, this year not so much. Outside of Woodruff, every pitcher has taken a step backwards. I understand why DS signed YG, but it just hasn't worked out and at $18 million, just not worth the money. With Pina, $1.6 this year, an option for next year for $1.85 million and he's an arbitration eligible in 2021. Easy decision in my mind, let Grandal walk, roll with Pina as the starter and I'd bring Kratz back just to see. If it worked before, it can work again!
  4. 100% correct! Just make sure Pina is his personal catcher!
  5. It was unbelievable to me when I heard that he signed with the Astros, especially when I heard the salary amount. That was sickening to see and just think, Anderson will be back next year at what, 8.5 million!
  6. Williams has a great fastball and changeup, just needs a third pitch. He'll get there, I'm not down on him!
  7. This is approaching the magnitude of the "cheese sandwich" game of 2004!
  8. Thank you for shedding more light on the issue. The DUI's are bad, but since he hurt no one but himself and allegedy has stopped drinking that I can live with that as long as he does not relapse and attends a substance abuse program. The deal breaker to me is the sexual assault, in summary the allegation is he "roofied" a woman. No Deal!! It sends a bad message to the female fanbase. Honestly, hope he fails and gets released!
  9. This is NOT the subject I thought the title was implying. However, thank y'all for bringing this to my attention! I've always been leery of pressure cookers, so I usually crock pot things. I'll have to check this out!
  10. Good call Joey, since he just went 6 innings for the Astros no hitter!
  11. Had to read that second sentence a couple of times. Thought either my eyes are going downhill fast or sveumrules started the weekend early! In all seriousness, way to early for a eulogy. I'll admit this team has major issues, but it looks like alot of other teams do as well. As impressive as the Dodgers appear, they to have a major issue, middle relief. Get to the starters and you got them. It's hard not to look at the standings, I'm guilty as well. You never know, it can all start clicking tomorrow. Probably not, but you don't know until you play!
  12. Now that's a rotation!
  13. I'm thinking that's what they hope to get from Tony Kemp.
  14. Right now, I'm on the phone with the Yankees. Sanchez has a groin injury, Voit down with a hernia. Grandal for Frazier?
  15. LF now open for Grisham in 2020? [/quote I know this maybe heresy, looks great, but the Grisham train could derail quickly. Hope not, just too early to tell for me.
  16. Thames will be back next year! Mr. Braun, grab a 1b glove!
  17. I won't say he's not good, just inconsistent. On July 12, he gave up 8 hits and 7 runs in less than one inning to the Angels. 7 days later a one hit, complete game against the same team.
  18. Well Mike Leake might be on the move before his start tonight. Leake would be my target. The Mariners have shown they are more then willing to kick in money in trades and Leake wouldn't cost us a lot prospect wise. The real fun is that the Cards are still paying part of his salary, so acquiring him and have him start against them would really stick in their craw!
  19. It's like Stearns needed a date for a dance got desperate and called an ex girlfriend so he could go! LOL Matt Harvey could have given you similar production and you still have Ponce, not that I'm heartbroken over trading him. Oh well, maybe something else is in the works, but Jordan Lyles? LOL
  20. I've waited to declare whether they should buy or sell. I was wanting to see how the Cub series would unfold before making a decision. Now that the first two are in the books, I am buying! An all in buy? No, but they can make some moves to at least make it to the playoffs. A starter is a clear need. I just don't think we have the assets to get a Syndergaard or Stroman unless we empty the system entirely, but there are some available that would help. The one that interest me the most is Mike Leake. Consistancy seems to be an issue, but when he is on, he can be good. That contract is a question, So I found this propsal. https://sodomojo.com/2019/07/27/mariners-trade-day-leake-mil/ Thoughts??
  21. Im not gonna say "must win", however this series will be the catalyst of how the rest of the season is handled. A Brewers sweep, big buy. Cubs sweep, big sell. Take two, pick up some pieces. Take one, may sell a little. May tonight be the start of a big losing streak for the Cubs, where the fans riot at Wrigley! They are insufferable!
  22. Desperation move on the Cubs part. Done for two reasons, Yelich and Moustakas!
