  1. I hope so, maybe it was the way Michigan utilized him that prevented him from fully maximizing his talents and Chase Winovich benefited from that. Either way, I wish the kid nothing but the best of luck and hope he has years of success in GB. Can we now address the OL?
  2. Like the Savage pick, a little pricey, but I love his aggressive approach. The Gary pick is a puzzler, a Wonderlic Score of 9? Maybe a bad day. The shoulder issue is much more concerning, seems like his rookie year will be a redshirt one. Granted, he has amazing physical abilities, just not a fan of a pick made on "potential". Given the choice between the two, I would have preferred Chase Winovich. Who despite his limitations, will be more successful than Gary in the NFL. As far as who is left, Ford, Taylor, and Brown will probably snapped up quick. A couple I like are WR Andy Isabella and C/OG Hjalte Froholdt, who was destined to play in the NFC North!
  3. Have to agree 100%, tied for third most sacks given up last year with 53. Yeah, you can say it was because he scrambles, but then why is he scrambling! Having said that, I going to cook some eggs! Care to guess how I'm going to make them!
  4. "The Packers took a guy who was a major slacker in college, whereas the Dolphins just picked a high-character player who was a team captain at his school." To say that sentence is disturbing is an understatement. SMH!!
  5. At #12, I would take an O-Line. Williiams, Dilliard, Taylor in that order. Now it is possible that all three could be gone at that point, if they are, that would mean somebody is there that shouldn't be, Hockenson, Sweat or Bush. In that scenario, I would run to the podium with Sweat in big bold letters. At #30 is a depends. Did they get an O-Line at #12? No? Get one here! Lindstrom would be ideal. If OL is covered, what TE is available, none? How about a WR or S? I know people are screaming about Simmons, just screams Justin Harrell 2.0 to me! Also, it seems a few have a QB like Lock at #30 being selected, I can only hope he's gone by then. It would be less than ideal to draft a QB in the first round with Rodgers still in GB. As great at the position as he is, he comes across as a little "delicate" and drafting a QB in the first round would do nothing but cause controversy and start the same situation that happened when he was drafted with Brett at QB. No thanks!
  6. Hope he's doing well and get back on the field ASAP. With the way Thames and Aguilar are, 1B is his for the taking!
  7. 0-49 after last night, new MLB record. Despite the fact that he has a huge contract and more money than I will ever see, I just can't help feeling bad for him. Sending positive vibes Chris!!
  8. Thank you Auburn and Michigan State! Going back and looking, 2015 was the last time either Duke or Kentucky was in the Final Four. They were both in that year. After listening to the post game show, Kentucky fans are not all happy with that! A few were quite emotionally distraught!
  9. 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 82-80 Playoffs (Yes, No): No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: N/A All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich & Hader Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich Starting Pitcher of the Year: Chacin Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia, continues to listen Yelich. Most Disappointing Player: Grandal Last year was special. This year goes the other way! Burnes, Peralta and Woodruff will all be inconsistent, at times they will dominate, other times we'll wonder what happened. Davies and Anderson will yo-yo as the #5 starter with neither being able to take command. It's not until July when Nelson returns, that the outlook brightens. Outside of Hader and Guerra, the bullpen will be a trainwreck. Knebel is lost for the year and Jeffress will visit the DL a couple of times. At the plate, Brauns "days off" become more frequent and Gamel will make us long for the days of Santana. Cain and Yelich continue from last year, but Yelich doesn't match last years superhuman streak. Shaw and Moose are solid, I expect their numbers will be close to last years. The Jesus experiment fails as the dip in the second half of last year continues. Arcia blooms as a hitter, as he copies the Yelich approach, sans the power. Grandal, despite expectations, is only so-so and many will want Manny to be the primary catcher. All in all, it's a brutal year in the NL as "parity" will become the buzzword and the slightest weakness on each team is magnified. Like I said, last year was special and I would love to see it again, but the magic eludes the Brewers this year.
  10. The Parthenon in Centennial Park is a must see, pictures do not do it justice! Another place I enjoyed was Cheekwood. If food is a big part of your trip, The Gulch is an area filled with many niche restaurants that are bound to satisfy any taste. The Schermerhorn, home of the Nashville Symphony is quite enjoyable, as is the Frist Art Center. You can check out a NHL game with the Predators at Bridgestone.
  11. Finally saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas! That's now in my top ten movies of all time. Kept asking myself, how did I miss this? Didn't take too much to remember that when it came out I had three children under the age of eight!
  12. yeah, Dylan Moore signed a deal with Seattle back in November. I think Gatewood will be back at some point this spring, but it will probably take him some time to get back into the swing. My guess is he's playing in games sometime in June. I look for the Brewers to ink an insurance 1B to a minors deal like thwy did with Choi last year. Someone like Tommy Joseph makes sense. I too believe that both Supak and Brown will get bumped to AAA. Those two really have nothing to prove repeating in Biloxi. Derby, Wilkerson and Ponce could all be bumped to the pen. Houser is out of options, so its Milwaukee or bust for him. After some digging, found that Tommy Joseph has signed to play in Korea. Would have been nice to have him in San Antonio.
  13. Torn ACL, probably won’t be back until summer sometime I knew about the ACL surgery, just didn't know the timetable. Saw him swinging on his twitter account earlier this month.
  14. Jake Gatewood??? Did I miss something?
  15. I know, right? I'm sure it's not lost on him that he uses one of the longest, heaviest bats in the majors. It would seem logical to make an adjustment there with that as he reaches his twilight. Who knows, maybe a lighter, shorter bat will be part of this tweak. Is he still swinging a 35 oz. 33in. bat?
  16. Pomeranz was the lefthander I really wanted DS to sign this offseason. Way more upside and a lot cheaper than Wade or Gio will be. Missed opportunity!
  17. I thought Atlanta really overpaid for Josh Donaldson, but this is a steal!
  18. They must have been busy watching the Brewers when they got eliminated. Going to see a lot of copies of "BrewerBall" this year. Yankees are going all in with it, saw that the Giants are going to implement it as well.
  19. I know how this is going to play out! Pina, Peralta, Ray and Dubon will be sent to the Marlins for JT Realmuto. The better fielder will be the new 2B with the other being the starting catcher! Stearns is a genius!
  20. I was funning with turbo, but I have to wonder are people in KC, St. Louis, Cincinnati or Denver asking the same question? That players will not sign with teams based on population demographics? While I'm sure it's a consideration, it's a bottom of the list one. Money and Ichiro is why Kikushi is a Mariner today. For all the years I've been on this forum, I have noticed that many here have quite a negative view of Milwaukee and it appears that when something like this situation occurs it just reinforces the thought that there must have been something outside of baseball that was the reason they had no interest in signing with the team. If they have no interest playing here, why would you want them? Milwaukee is a fine city and just like every other city in the world it has its good points and bad points. If DS would have matched the Seattle offer, he would have been interested then. Moving on. Edit: Glad Stearns didn't match that offer! WOW!
  21. It's 2019 and you start the new year off with some conspiracy theory about money being the driving force behind this decision?
  22. You have WAY more faith in Domingo Santana turning it around than I do. Yes I do, Santana is not a spot start kinda player. Let me clarify, I agree with DS on getting players that are low K, high OPS types and Santana k's alot. Without the addition of Cain and Yelich, this team is no where near the playoffs and Braun with a $16 million contract is not going to be on the bench. Santana knew he was the odd man out and it was reflected in 2018. Trading Santana is not the issue, the timing is.
  23. Did Santana profile as a Stearns player? No, but to trade him now is a mistake. The solution was easy, move Jesus this year, sell high, move Braun to first and soft platoon with Thames. Let Santana man RF and build his value back up and move him next year. Instead, we will be discussing next year is this trade on the same level as the Khris Davis trade.
  24. Why? You're selling low on Santana.
