  1. Yeah, bullox it was definitely noticeable on T.V. that it was a majority of Badger fans in that stadium. I didn't realize why there would be so many fans at that game, but then it began to make sense because I don't think many people have an excuse to travel to Las Vegas, and the Badgers gave them one there. It must have been pretty sweet.
  2. I'm doin' split screen on the big 52-incher. This is where I'm glad to be able to have split screen ability on my T.V.
  3. I don't think we're going to be back in first after tonight. The Cubs are looking like they're going to salvage one from the Dodgers, which should be expected. Makes that Monday loss look that much bigger. I really want to see Marmol implode. This guy has been unhittable all-year.
  4. Carlos Zambrano. Multiple times. I don't think I've ever hated a sports figure more than that guy. I even have a more favorable opinion of Brian Urlacher, which is pretty hard to do.
  5. Living in Illinois, I definitely want the Cardinals over the Cubs. Ugh, I couldn't stand 2003, and this year it would be even worse with the comeback and "It's [not] Gonna' Happen" slogan. I really hope the Cardinals can take 4/5 from those games, but I'm expecting a split series coming down to that last game, making all of those games virtually pointless. I'm nervous right now about the Brewers, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like in that last week with that tough stretch. Whew...
  6. One of these losses is going to finally come back and bite us in the butt sooner or later. I jumped off the Yost ship a few weeks ago, to answer a question asked earlier in this thread. I was actually a defender of Yost for quite sometime. I'm far from that now, and I'm not happy to say so.
  7. If he really wanted to put a percentage to it he could just say the cubs are 20% better because they won 3 more games in a 15 game season series. I don't know, still just trying to find the logic behind that statement.
  8. How 'bout we pretend its still 0-0 now boys. I don't care when they come, as long as they're with in the next few innings, but we need to add on some before we get to the fifth.
  9. This thread is depressing. That's one of my favorite songs.
  10. I'm guessing they are just saving him for September. With his arm history, I'm guessing they want to be especially careful with him, whereas Yo will most likely end up a little above his set "limit". Just speculation though.
  11. I would rather be in first place at our rock bottom than ten under like the Cards and Cubs were this season. That is if this is our rock bottom. If this is our rock bottom, then I think we might be in O.K. shape. I really hope they can turn it around.
  12. On the way home a certain song was on that basically symbolizes how I feel about this team... "There she goes...There she goes again." I was at the game tonight and if there is one thing that I learned its that Dillon could probably play better catcher than Estrada and even possibly show a little more hustle. That guy is easy to root for. This season is a hard one to swallow. I guess all you can say is that there is still next year. That's how its been all my life.
  13. RRR, make that TWO home runs.
  14. A Brewers comeback on the road. Who woulda' thunk it? Oh, and the Packers won too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Endaround, congrats on the 10000th post! That was a great question Mass. I have been wondering the same thing. The Corey Hart suggestion intrigues me, but that would mean Weeks would have to step up into the leadoff spot. Just an FYI, I did not submit a question to today's chat so that was not my question from Brewerfan.net.http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif Plus, most people know that I am not really a Ned basher, although I might not be a fan of his. EDIT: Missed a zero on the congratulations. Must be losing my sight early.http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif
  16. I know people are saying that Sheets is key to saving our bullpen, but I think Soup is just as key. When we were on the 24-10 stretch he was consistently going 7+ innings even if he did give up four or so runs in the process. If that Soup came back, we'd be in O.K. shape too. Will he? I hope so.
  17. I don't know what happened to this team. There is no way I can believe this is the same type of team as previous years. They have too much talent. What is going on? Psch, Playoffs.
  18. I think that there is an advantage to losing a pitcher in a season as long as a few things fall into place (i.e. they return that season, performance not effected, etc.). The Brewers are going to have a 100% strong pitcher for the last month of the season. Yeah Soriano will be pretty rested too, but I think fatigue for a pitcher has more of an effect than it does for a hitter (not saying that there isn't an effect from fatigue for a hitter).
  19. I'll know he's confident again when he turns on one of those first pitch waist-high fastballs and hits it out for his 19th home run of the year. Until then, I don't know what is wrong with the guy that was my favorite player the first two months of the season, and still is right there.
  20. Claudio Vargas is not a starter. There. I said it.
  21. I still hold a small hope that there may be three or four more games that we win with a <10% chance of winning to even it out. I hold the belief that these things tend to even out in baseball, but I could be completely wrong. I think the Cubs doing so well lately in those types of games are also reason for hope as they are probably going to have a few more bullpen implosions before the season is over, and in no way do I expect the bullpen to go on another 22-1/3 scoreless streak like they recently had. I'm still optimistic (although that optimism is wearing thin).
  22. And yesterdays game could probably be attributed to good luck. They say these things have a way of balancing themselves out over the course of a season. It's not supposed to happen on consecutive days. I just hope for all the games they've blown (what is it seven or eight?) even out into comeback wins (three or four so far?). I can be hopeful right? Ugh, I hate the feeling I have after one of these losses.
  23. I would have called him out even looking at the live play, but I am a bit biased.http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif
  24. Well the Cubs are able to score on a miss call by the ump at first base (infield hit) and then get a bases loaded walk for the second run of that inning. Definitely Cubs baseball, but at least we know all those things aren't always going to work their way.
  25. I think he needs to unleash on one of those first pitch strikes he always gets now that pitchers know he is taking all the way. I mean seriously I bet if he got hot and was confident enough to do that it could do some damage. I think its all mental for that reason. At the game tonight I thought that one was gone, but oh well. Oh, and by the way, in the four games I've gone to this year Turnbow and Cordero have been lights out, and the Brewers are 4-0. Get me some tickets http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif.
