I guess it's a sign of how things have changed. If Turnbow accepts a AAA assignment, the Brewers will be paying over $10 million to players not on the 25 man roster (Jenkins buyout, Vargas buyout, Capuano, Bush, Turnbow)
I was watching Gameday until the end. It was kind of like a car wreck, you can't turn away. It was actually entertaining watching Turnbow, waiting to see how bad it would good. And am I bad person for wanting Turnbow to do horribly in this situation, just for the ammunition to get rid of him?
I don't really care that he gave up 6 runs in mopup duty, the problem is he couldn't even get 3 outs. That forced the Brewers to use another reliever. If he can't even get 3 outs in mopup duty, he's worthless.
During Sunday's game they did the wave in the first or second inning, when the Brewers were up 1-0. Then they kept trying to get it going again throughout the game. Do it once in the game and that's it.
He had a few brief stays on the Power 50 http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewPower50PlayerTracker.do?playerId=583 He's done better in the past when getting regular playing time, but he has rarely gotten that regular playing time.
Congrats! I've never had any credit card debts and I have a pretty good start on retirement. But we're still paying off school loans for myself and my wife. The first car is almost paid off, but then we'll need a second car by fall. We plan to drive them into the ground. I will be so relieved once the cars and school loans are paid off. I have a 30 year mortgage at 5.75%, but I'm not too worried about it. The rate's not too bad and the interest is a tax deduction. We don't plan on moving, so we just want it paid off by the time we retire.
I either drove my parents gray 1988 Olsmobile Cutlass Ciera or their 1986 maroon Cutlass Cierra. The 88 died after 90,000 miles. My first car was a brand new 1995 Chevy Corsica that I got during college. That one died after 100,000 miles and 9 years. It went through brakes like water and had 7 intake manifold gaskets replaced during it's lifetime at $700 a pop. 2 were while it was still under warrantee. It got totalled 1 month after I paid it off (3 years old), but I was able to fix it with the insurance money. No more crappy GM cars for me. I've got a 2004 Honda Accord and I couldn't be happier.
.510 slugging for Chapman? It's still early, but that's impressive for Brevard. Katin, Gamel and Braun didn't slug .500 there. And can someone remind me what injury Narron had a few years ago? Aguilar could be one of the first to get bumped up given his age and success.
How do the Badger Mutual Insurance Family Days work? I see it listed under the season long promotions, but it's not an option when buying tickets online. Do you have to go to the ticket office?
I hear ya. It was the first game I've gone to this year. I've never seen a low scoring game take so long. But my 3.5 year old son wanted to stay for the whole thing. The highlight was definitely getting to watch Stetter get out of the Turnbow jam. Striking out 2 with that 77 MPH filth.
I was just noticing that Kendall could end up throwing out more base runners in April, then Estrada did all last year. Kendall has thrown out 8 of 20 for 40%. Estrada only threw out 11 during the entire season.
Bush should be back at some point. Parra will most likely have to go to the pen for a month or so at some point. Of course, if he continues to only go 5 innings a start, he can go 33 starts and only reach 165 innings.
