  1. Poor Mike Bell. The only starter with a Batting average below .290, OBP below .350, and OPS below .800.
  2. I knew baseball players made nothing in endorsements compaired to other sports, but it really jumped out in that list.
  3. That's exactly it. I never thought I'd buy a foreign car, but after 12 years of non-stop problems with the crap that GM sells, I had enough. Switched to Honda 4 years ago, and haven't had a problem since. It will take a lot more than a few good reports, to ever get me to reconsider.
  4. Really. Fox 6 can't even come up with different stories for their 9 and 10 PM news.
  5. That at least buys them a month to figure things out. The #5 will be needed 5 times in July, since the All Star Break is their only off days. Hopefully, Villanueva will be ready to go back into the rotation by then.
  6. I know Yost didn't want to skip any starters over the first 2 months, but with McClung as the #5 now, I think it makes sense to skip him in June. After McClung starts tomorrow, the #5 would only be needed on the 15th and the 21st. Given the lack of alternatives, it would appear that the other 4 starters give them the best chance of winning. They've all been pitching better as of late.
  7. Last year was the first time at Great America in 4 years. Before that, I had gone ever year from 1989- 2003 and am a big coaster nut. But I couldn't believe the prices. Now things have gone up again. $15 to park in the far lot and $25 to park on the main lot. Mandatory $1 lockers at all major coasters. Insane prices for crappy food. Rides closing with no replacements. It's really gone down hill since Time Warner sold Six Flags. My 3.5 year old son had a good time, especially in the Wiggles area, but now over 48" have to pay the adult prices. He'll hit that by the time he's 5. They still have some great coasters, but it's getting to the point where it isn't worth it anymore.
  8. I thought Bush mentioned some weeks ago that Maddux tried tinkering with his mechanics and he's starting to feel comfortable now that he's getting back to his old mechanics. Maddux tinkering is what turned Rusch from an average starter into a pile of garbage.
  9. Looks like Pena and Stetter are both going to be staying in AAA for a while, until they can cut down on the walks.
  10. I loved the Carol Burnett show. Korman and Conway were the best.
  11. What's the story with Ramlow? I know he's been in the system for a few years, but he's putting up pretty good numbers this year and he's been closing more lately.
  12. That's actually pretty close to the truth, based on recent studies of drugs getting into our drinking water.
  13. I am so sick of our pitchers walking everyone. 11 walks in 1 game!?
  14. You've got a bullpen full of ex-starters who can go multiple innings. Why use Shouse for 2 innings?
  15. Will this really be the first game this year with the roof open (according to the JS)? Man, what a "Spring".
  16. The team has an option on Torres for next year.
  17. Exactly. I can't remember the last time I've watched TV news. What's the point?
  18. That makes sense about the cold Lake Michigan water. At the beginning of spring, I heard that the water temperature was 33 degrees. It's going to take a while for that the warm up. There have also been some extreme "cooler by the lake" days. I remember one where I left work downtown when it was 50 degrees. Had the heat on in the car. Got home to Muskego and it was 75 and had the windows open.
  19. That was a crazy weather change yesterday evening. It went from 75 to 50 in about an hour.
  20. And didn't Gamel go half a season there before he hit his first homer?
  21. What's with that bum LaPorta not hitting .300 like everyone else? Amazing that all starters except LaPorta and Gillespie are batting .300 now.
  22. As the Brewers DL fills up, the minor league DLs are almost empty. Quite a healthy year, so far (knock on wood). 5 on the Brewers DL and only 5 in the entire minors on the DL. And Pamisano is the only position player in the whole organization on the DL.
  23. Does Seatle want another former Brewer? Cirillo and Sexson weren't too popular or productive there.
  24. Pretty much looks like 8 stages of Meh so far.
  25. LH OPS/RH OPS Weeks .798/.616 Cameron .100/.801 Braun .801/.945 Fielder .855/.809 Hart .801/.766 Hall 1.088/.566 Hardy .648/.627 Kendall .727/.708 I know it's a small sample, but Hall screams platoon. Hardy's not hitting anyone. And even though Weeks OPS splits are pretty big, he's still hitting around .200 against both.
